Today we were hoping not to visit that place by Military. They are waay too over priced, the food is at times waay over spiced which takes away from enjoying what little taste remains, and the Jerk chicken is dry. Even though they pride themselves as being a Jamaican restaurant with a twist/elevated, the authenticity is hugely lacking. Brand Jamaica should not be taken lightly. Then comes Real Real Jamaica ?? ? all di way mi seh! I'm am so thrilled that I found authentic Jamaican cuisine via Real Real Jamaica. Today I bought two large Oxtail meals and a small Jerk chicken. The Oxtail pieces are sized perfectly, exactly what I'm accustomed to, not the big ole Oxtail pieces you find in the local grocery store chain. The rice and peas was perfect, I could actually taste the coconut, YES!! The spice on the Jerk chicken was balanced and not over powering, my taste buds sang a tune I Ionged for. All, take it from me, if you want to taste the Real Real Jamaica, whichs boasts it's authenticity with every bite, I implore you to get your but down to.......................Real Real Jamaica ??. I highly recommend. A++**Oh, did I mention their food is priced just right****Mi seh dem food price naah gu bruck di bank****Very Affordable **
Goshhhhh.. this place this woman can cook. I came here today first thing in the afternoon with my husband and was not disappointed. The chefs daughter was very professional and I joked with her about wanting jerk chicken because coming from Brooklyn newyork and having a trini back ground ..Carribean people know flavor. But lawddd dis ting was good. Anyone wanting real Carribean food ..go to the real real Jamaica !!! Lord ah almost forget I was Trinidadian for a moment but this is really good??
I am Caribbean. So I don’t mince words when it comes to authentic Caribbean food. Though I am not Jamaican, I know what makes my tastebuds sing. As I am scraping the scraps of my second plate (I actually dined in yesterday and took a different meal home) together, I am in shambles. My meal is coming to an end. The rice and beans were rice and beaning. The plantains were soft and sweet, reminding me of home. The curried goat was fall off the bone delectable. And the jerk chicken left me humming as I ate. In laymen’s terms, the food was spiced just right. And the portions were on point. I WILL be trying the fish next. And I know I will not be disappointed. Trenciyah (I know I butchered it) provided excellent service. I even bonded with two ladies while we waited for our meal and subsequently ate together. Good food can bring the world together. Try Real Real Jamaica! You won’t be disappointed!
Today was my husband and I first time and we were really really pleased. Everything was hot and fresh and the spice and taste was amazingly delicious!!! Can’t wait to come back!
Hands down the best curry chicken I had in a long time definitely worth trying and also I recommend the ackee and salt fish ?
It was just ok for me. not good but not inedible. Ive had food from their food truck before and was pleased so maybe Today was a one off. My husband ordered Rasta Pasta & there was enough did to feed 4 people. He didn't add the sauce that was given on the side & was disappointed that the chicken in the pasta wasnt deboned. Ill probably just stick to Jerk Shack to be honest.
The food is a made fresh , amazing customer service never dissatisfied
It was our first time ever trying Jamaican food and we decided to stop at this place because of some positive reviews I saw from.more experienced Jamaican food lovers. I am in love! The food was so good! We ordered the chicken Jerk and the oxtails. We had rice with peas and some type of gravy, steamed rice, and steamed vegetables and we loved it all.. I am sad that we live 18 hrs away but we will be back when in San Antonio again. The lady serving us was super nice and friendly and explained the food options for us. We went right before they closed so the selection wasn't too broad but I can't wait to go back and try other of their dishes.
Probably I won’t go there again. There is no price on the menu. I ordered Ackee and salt fish and it cost $17. Way too pricy with the food serving in a to-go plastic box. Also the Ackee and salt fish is with excess salt. With every bite you need to drink water. I have never had any food as salty as this one.
First time here. I came for SA Black Restaurant Week. Cozy spot tucked away in a shopping strip.... drive slow, if you blink you'll miss it! Staff have excellent customer service and the food is delish with above average portions. Just be mindful, all menu items aren't available everyday.
