I think the soul rolls might be the best thing I've eaten in YEARS. Everything else was delicious and cooked just right. The woman who took our order was very friendly and made great suggestions. Definitely worth a visit.
Finally made it out!And glad I did I'll definitely be back again.Friendly staff, great food that makes it hard to single out any one item but the corn bread comes to mind first. Cabbage was well flavored (and normally i dont favor Cabbage), Mac was perfectly cheesy and the steak was great.Thank you.
I ate there for the first time today staff was very nice. I order the catfish but they didn't have any today truck didn't come in so I got fish that they did have it was very thin 2 pieces and side I order Mac and cheese it was watery and green bean I wanted fried okra but they didn't have any at the time and I want around 12:45 the food had no taste at all even with putting salt and pepper and hot sauce on it.
My wife & I just enjoyed dinner at Mr. A Ok’s today. We had the fried pork chops, fried catfish, liver & onions, oxtails, collard greens, macaroni & cheese, yams & sweet teas. Everything was so very delicious. The oxtails were so tender & falling off the bone. I took the liver & onions to go. I know they will be great too. Service was great. We met the owners & staff. So very personable & pleasant. We will definitely be back next week to try a new dish. Thank you

I was covering an office on Walzem and looking for Home Cooked Love. As a southerner, any Chicken Fry food & gravy has to be on point. Wasn't what I expected, but better than I could imagine. Chicken Fried Steak, Mac & Black-eyed peas we're on point and I felt it in my heart as well as my stomach. The Cornbread was moist and buttery and finished up the Uniquely Amazing gravy as the day's problems also disappeared. Friendly and Warm, like your visiting your relatives. I'm getting the Meatloaf next time I'm here.
The food and service was great. The staff ensured we were satisfied and all of our needs were met. The food was prepared fresh and came out piping hot to our table. Great first time experience and we'll be back.
Best cornbread and greens I’ve tasted in San Antonio. All the food was yummy and we ate it up. The staff is incredibly nice and makes you feel at home. My toddler enjoyed watching kid friendly tv while waiting. Go early because they run out of items probably because it’s so good ?
Their CORNBREAD! ??I was driving through San Antonio to get back home to Houston & I absolutely had to make a stop just to buy some cornbread. Everything there is delicious, but every time someone tells me they’re heading towards San Antonio , this is the first place I recommend. Even if they don’t sit down to eat - I tell them to at least go there for the cornbread. I would drive the 4 hours from Houston JUST for their cornbread. It’s that amazing , this cornbread is literally what dreams are made of ?Plus , you definitely get the mom & pop shop feel of the place . It’s nice to feel welcomed and appreciated and not just seen as another customer like at the typical chain restaurants. ?
We had a delivery of this home town great food for a Managers Meeting for Team Sailing Great ClipsIt was so delicious!!!Fried Chicken, macaroni and Cheese, salad, cabbage and cornbread. Banana Pudding for dessert . Plus it was delivered by Mrs Cindy Harris herself.
