All around great restaurant. The owner Terrell is the upmost genuine person I could have run in to on my way work trip in San Antonio,Tx. My love for Jamaican food and his expertise in the kitchen cooking these amazing Caribbean eats. Hands down best oxtails in the state of Texas. I will return here anytime I’m even close to the state of Texas

My husband and I wanted somewhere new to try for date night and we were NOT disappointed. The food was amazing. Hands down some of the best seafood I've ever eaten. We shared the #6 seafood platter with the sweet potato casserole and the Mac & cheese as sides. Never have had fried salmon before, and boy, was that life changing. The fried foods were not greasy at all. Breaded in corn meal, so really light and crunchy. The catfish was some of the cleanest I've ever had. Most times catfish has a distinct taste because it's a bottom feeder. But this tasted very different. They had a great atmosphere and the man who served us was attentive to everyone in the dining room as well as those walking in for carryout. Gonna tell all my friends about this place. Highly recommend.

I moved to San Antonio in 2020. I found out this year San Antonio was having Black Restaurant Week when my Aunt and Uncle were coming into town. I asked a coworker who has lived in San Antonio her entire life which restaurant I should go to. She said Momma Luv's Soul & Caribbean Food. We got to Momma Luv's at 6pm, they close at 7pm. Some of the items on the menu were already sold out so definitely go for lunch so you have the entire menu. Let me tell you, I ordered the catfish, my Aunt did too, and it was AMAZING! The seasoning on the catfish was perfect, it was fried excellent. It was just AMAZING, reminded me of my Grandma's catfish I would eat with grits when I was younger. My Uncle had the Salmon and Shrimp Special and my friend had the #6 Momma Luv's Seafood Platter. They both loved their food. The owner also gave us a side of wings and these were AMAZING as well. If you haven't been, you won't be disappointed.

THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD!! I went here with my sister and the service was amazing the lady was so nice patient and communicative. There was music playing that set the vibe. Beautiful black people were coming in and out as we sat and enjoyed our food (they were busy but they served the food very quickly, couldn’t have been more than 10-15min). I had the catfish meal with BAKED MAC N CHEESE(was my FAVORITE) and cabbage with two sweet rolls, my sister had oxtails and rice with the same sides and some sweet potato casserole (I tasted and it was so good). Literally coming straight from your grandmothers kitchen kinda soul food. The owner was very nice and very involved as well, you can tell this place is a place of love and peace❤️ Will be back very soon with others!

I decided to come here after making a long drive from the Houston area. I read some reviews online that said the food here is fantastic, and that is absolutely true. I came here on a Sunday, so I was able to order their special jerk chicken. I’d like to mention here that I’ve never had jerk chicken before, so I had no idea what to expect. It was DELICIOUS! It was incredibly tender, sweet and spicy, and full of flavor. It came with coconut rice, cabbage, and some plantains. Let me tell you, I was having an experience while eating this chicken. I would definitely drive all the way back here, just for this chicken!I also came here with my parents. Both of them ordered shrimp and catfish plates with various sides. The catfish was fresh, full of flavor, and it had cornmeal breading, which everyone knows is the proper way to bread catfish! The shrimp was plump and delicious; it didn’t need any extra hot sauce or salt! The sweet potato casserole was sweet, had just the right amount of spices, and very similar to a fantastic sweet potato pie. The mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy; just like your grandmother’s mac and cheese. Just know, the food is great, regardless of what you choose to eat.The restaurant itself is pretty small, but very cozy. I felt comfortable as soon as I walked in the door. We got our order to go and we didn’t wait long to get our order. The woman taking our order was very sweet and made sure that we were taken care of while we waited for our food. The chef was also super friendly! If you’re ever in the area (or don’t mind making a long trek), please visit this place! You’ll love the food, the atmosphere, and you’ll never wanna leave!

Posting this while I’m eating lol. Been in SATX for a few months now and this is top 3 places I’ve been two. Oxtail was tender and juicy. Rice and peas on point. Cabbage was good. Plantains beyond what I expected. Definitely coming back.
