I love studying here and catching up with friends! Love the coffee and the merchandise you can buy!
I've loved Merit for many years. Lately, I visit this location most often and it's always been amazing. I love how open and spacious it is, with tons of seating options inside. Its not on the menu, but I'm in love with their honey latte. Nowadays I'll simply get an oat milk latte - their espresso is divine. Merit's coffee is the only coffee that I buy and brew at home. Nothing else compares. It's the perfect gift for any coffee fiend. Hands down some of the best coffee in San Antonio. FYI There's parking in the back if you don't want to deal with the tiny front parking lot.
Nice spot to study, meet, read, or just kill some time. Cortado was aromatic and bold. I enjoyed it very much.
One of THE BEST matcha lattes I've ever had, pastries are awesome, and the environment was *chefs kiss* 10/10
Things change with time, and not always for the better. I used to love this place, even bought merchandise here. Merit Coffee tastes excellent. Their drinks are excellent. Their coffee beans are excellent. But that’s where the excellence abruptly stops. Some time last year, Merit decided to change their rewards program so that points expire. Not only do they expire, they expire fast. Perhaps if you came in daily, the rewards program would suite you. But for the average Merit goer like myself who came in a few times every months, bought a coffee bag and a drink, and enjoyed getting a free coffee every once in a while, the new rewards program was rendered obsolete as the points expired far too quickly to get even a handcrafted drink. There doesn’t appear to be a good, logical explanation for the change as the change can only upset their loyal customers. After destroying their rewards program, Merit decided to, perhaps due to inflation or to try to increase profits, raise prices. A lot. We’re talking about 20%-75% depending on the item. My wife’s drink came out to $8.60. That’s not a typo. What an embarrassing moment when you have to downsize the drink to a small and get a different drink because it’s so expensive. It was at that moment that I decided we’d never buy drinks at Merit again. And then the bean prices increased. Not the beans! Well the was the last straw. We now go to What’s Brewing Coffee Roasters, whose drinks and beans are far less expensive (but just as delicious) as Merit. It was a fun ride with Merit, but things change with time, and not always for the better.
Can’t believe I paid $8.39 for this ice filled matcha strawberry! My straw barely went in because of the ice.. I asked the barista to take some ice out for me and this is the final product.
Nice work space, friendly staff, tons of seating, and coffee is great as unlimited for the drip!Exactly what you want from a coffee shop to do work at!
The variety of choices are very nice. Appreciated the gluten friendly bars. We enjoyed their chai tea latte w/almond milk & an Ethiopian coffee pour over. They were both excellent each morning we visited. Staff were helpful & knowledgeable. Thanks Merit for brightening our mornings during our brief visit to San Antonio ?
Guy in the front VERY helpful , extremely great mood , helped me with ordering since it was my first time there , still Wouldn’t recommend going to this coffee shop if your looking for one , there’s a blonde that works there , selves of tattoos on both arms which is cool but I would call her “little miss sunshine” she was extremely rude, annoyed I’m guessing ? But definitely her mood from me being happy at the counter to me waiting for my coffee I can see how upset she was? Now to the coffee, save your money…I spent 7$ for a iced coffee that had 2oz of coffee she said to me , cup wasn’t filled all the way I’m sorry I know that could’ve been explained better but what is that about ?? Boo merit very disappointed.
One of my favorite places in San Antonio. Being right next to medical center, most everyone is on their computer, so it's a good place to get work done. Staff are super friendly, and the coffee is always good.
