Thank goodness for this delicious place. The service is amazing, the food is amazing, the wait is long but totally worth it!! Bring your appetite because the servings are enormous. We had the breakfast tacos and the chili cheese omelet. Both were delicious and we were shocked that a New York place had delicious salsa. The french toast was calling my name but I'm trying to be good and lose weight. So I told it to shut up, but dang it looks good!!!
Our waitress was good but seems their either training staff or just don’t have the personal to run efficient. Ordered the meatloaf with potatoes and gravy and everything was cold but the broccoli and they were still cooking the onions/mushroom when the food came so I said don’t worry about it because then it really would have been cold. Mac & cheese was probably the hottest items we received. Biscuits were cold and $7 way too much for an biscuit. The French toast grill cheese was cold and cheese wasn’t melted. Looks like it sat for a while and they forgot about it. Home fries were cold and old but scrambled eggs were hot but they were watery. They replaced home fries with fresh fries. This probably the worst experience out of 3 visits but don’t think I’ll be returning to eat cold food again especially for these prices. Also was going to order some cake on the way out and everybody that was working the counter just stood and watched and never asked if we needed something. Also don’t know if waitress had too many tables but never got refills on drinks or ask if we wanted to order more drinks from bar.
Great spot that brings the nostalgia as a fellow New Yorker. The aroma is fresh bread and bagels right when you walk in. I ordered a Belgian waffle and hash browns. My partner got the Eggs Benedict. We both enjoyed our food. I got fresh-squeezed orange juice, which was delicious and refreshing. Service was fast and our server was pleasant and professional. I would definitely return.
Classic New York Style Diner. Clean, plenty of seating. Table service was good. No wait time to be seated. Little wait time to be served food but worth it! Huge portions. Food is delicious. We had to take the left overs home. They sell breakfast all day and there's a bakery inside, as well as a bar. There's so many options: soups, salads, steak, pizza, pasta, sandwiches, burgers. We ordered a ham and cheese stromboli and egg plant parmesan.
Got on the wait list for Sunday brunch instead of standing in the long line to get in. Was told 45 min. and 47 minutes were being seated. The waiter, Yakoy, was amazing. He explained the brunch menu and was quick with coffee refills. The food was fantastic. Pancakes, eggs, hash browns, sausage, home made biscuits and gravy. Filled us for the rest of the day. Yakoy checked on us a few times but not so as to be annoying. Five stars for Yakoy!!! If you’re hungry and want great food, Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner, Max and Louie’s is the place in San Antonio.
This place is awesome. Food is wonderful and the staff is great. They always go out of there way to make it a great outing.
The food is absolutely amazing. It's diner good, but not greasy diner food you'd expect. The portions are massive, so come with an appetite and no expectation on doing anything else the rest of the day.The waitress we've had the two times I've been was absolutely phenomenal. We had big groups both times (10 and 14 people), and she handled it like a champion. Never had to ask for a refill on my water or sprite the entire time - they just magically appeared.I had the blueberry pancakes which were massive, fluffy discs of pancake goodness. The blueberry compote on top was amazing. My friend had the french toast, which is three (thick) slices of challah bread and it looked amazing. Another friend (not pictured) had a BLT on challah that looked pretty good too - it was also super tall.10/10 - will be continuing to come here as long as I am able!
SOOOOO DELICIOUS!
I think I have discovered my new favorite breakfast dish: the French Toast Grilled Cheese, it is sublime and has the perfect balance of sweet and salty all in one. Absolutely loved it. There was a short wait time when we arrived so make sure to check the wait times on Yelp. I definitely want to come back for dinner
The food was great had the turkey club sandwich and it was stacked!! You have to try a bagel with the many cream cheese options they have including honey and cinnamon which is the one I had. The coffee is great even black try it and you'll know what i mean. Overall massive selection from the menu have to go more than once to really try it all. If you need breakfast try the french toast :)
