We have experience this restaurant and we find this restaurant has customer service issues.First of all good part Tawa Fish Fry was awesome very delicious and the paratha is huge and tasty we also order the chapli which was good. Sweet lassi really love it. We also order Halwa but it was like halwa soup its very watery not a good idea to try.Customer services issue first we enter and once sit in one area and settle down with kids than all of sudden waiter arrive and said that this area is closed and we moved to another table. Later on after like 10 minutes one group came and they sit and no body ask that this is closed this is really bad. Most important thing we were four ppl and after getting the check we get to know that they charged 15% gratuity so we ask that why you charge gratuity so they said two little kids 3 and 4yrs are also counted in group. Wow! We paid 15% gratuity for getting bad services.
I am very dissatisfied with their slow service and poor hygiene. We found few strands of hair from Naan. The waiter did not apologize at all. It was disgusting. The food was just okay and very pricey. Portions were very small for the price. Our food was served 45 minutes after we placed the order and then we had to wait again for the Naan because of the hair, they made another batch of Naan. Then we had to wait again 40 minutes for the chai (tea). The tea was served in the foam cups. Very cheap for the price. I will never visit Kohinoor restaurant again.
There's a lot of misinformation about this restaurant in the reviews. First of all, this is a Pakistani restaurant not an Indian restaurant so keep your expectations straight. This is not a fine dining experience this is your typical hole in the wall family owned restaurant.Try the paratha and the tawa chicken. You won't be disappointed. If you are, I would question every desicion you've ever made in your life.
I actually was kinda eh about going because of some of the reviews but I think some of these people are a bit dramatic or picky. As far as the wait, they do let you know when you sit down, and I read some reviews so I knew what to expect and brought my book.I thought the waitress was very nice and attentive, and had no issue with decor/ambience/dining room. Some people seem to bothered, but it was clean and spacious. Well kept. The food was very good. Hot, very aromatic, and cooked well.We got chicken somosas, very good, crispy, hot, what I was expecting. We got the butter naan, cooked very well, and was large enough to share between the two of us.We got the chicken biryani, which was spicy, but not so much I couldn't enjoy it. I actually like spice, and expected it, so I was pleased. We also got the chicken Karahi, which was very good! It smelled great, and was cooked very well. A lot of places tend to over do it, and it comes out dry. Kohinoor doesn't! Its flavorful, spicy, and cooked perfectly. We ended the meal with Marsala Chai, which was very good, sweet and spiced. I enjoyed it, sitting for a moment after we finished eating. Very nice touch.A very nice place, that I will be returning too! I feel like when you go and get spicy food, it isn't very one note, or isn't flavorful at all. Kohinoor is some of the best spicy flavorful food in the city.
As someone who lives in an area in which Pakistani food is not an option, I pounced at the chance of trying a restaurant that might have food reminiscent of my home country. Kohinoor was so good that I went twice in the few days I was in Texas. From their huge parathas to their kebabs, everything was fresh and filled with layers of flavor. My mouth is watering thinking about the food right now and my heart is wishing that I had a location near me. My only complaint would be the quantity of the food besides the parathas, everything was a little small in size.
Went there to eat since we were in the neighborhood. People were nice and the food decent. Prices were reasonable too but the ambiance wasn't the best. I wish they had decorated a little better to give more of an automatic Pakistani look. I will recommend it and still visit again.
The food arrive, after 34 mints, the korma didn’t had salt and chapli kabab was not cook good. The wait is not worth it and don’t even try the chapli kabab
Poor slow service. Suggest take out. Food was brought out one at time very cold seemed understaffed and lacked many qualities for the price that were simply not there. Food was average at best. Quantities are really small for price and ambience was very unclean in my opinion. I would recommend low expectations going in.
Love the food and Customer service was awesome
Terrible burnt food, poor service, extremely bad attitude of owner. Billed over $300 and was stuck on the cost of one water bottle! Never again plus I go here!!!
