I have lived in the Central Texas area for over 20 years and have yet to see any African restaurant cook both Egusi and okra soup as good as Kobams. They know how to cook the dishes and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a real African dish. I visited the restaurant again about a week ago when I was in town. This time I experienced something I had never experienced before when I was asked to pay for my meal beforehand. Even though I made it clear that it wasn’t a take out order. I m not sure if they’ve had customers walk away without paying for their food after they ate. This was a turn off, especially when this wasn’t my first visit and in the past this was never done to me.
I have been wanting to try the egusi soup and I have to say it was absolutely delicious ? I will absolutely be back to try some more of their dishes. Everything looked so amazing. Thank you to the friendly staff as well.
This place is amazing. Bring cash if you want the meat pies. Totally worth every penny. Staff is nice and friendly, and lots of fans inside to keep air flowing (which is great in the era of the pandemic.) Tell them how much spice you like or can handle and they will have great recommendations!
SO DELICIOUS! loved the food and atmosphere. Servers were so kind and the prices were great! The coconut rice was so tasty
This is the best food I’m San Antonio. PERIOD. I came to enjoy some good food and left with a life changing experience. The jollof was the best I ever had which says a lot. The flavor was unmatched. Words don’t describe the flavor explosion that took place in my mouth. I will be returning often.
Wonderful food every time I order. I have been coming to this restaurant for over a year now. The service is timely and outstanding for every party planning I have had her cater big and small. Today was another success with my coworkers all loving her coconut rice fresh for pick up. Thank you and God bless and be back again!

Best African food in Texas. My personal favorite is the beef suya and egusi soup. The portions are large and the service is fast and exceptional. Stop by , bring your friends and tell everybody!!
This is not a recent purchase. I was scrolling through my photos and saw this picture. I remember dining at Kobams when it first opened, and I absolutely loved the food. A few months ago, I placed an order but I didn’t check my food until I made it home. I was highly upset about this egusi. Based on this, I decided to never eat at or order from Kobam’s again.
Delicious and comforting food. The meat pies were good too but we ate them too fast. The lady was really sweet with us, 10/10Thank you for being so welcoming!!
