We enjoyed our overall stay in April ‘22 - service was great which is lacking now in hospitality industry. Staff was professional and helpful. Someone was always asking if we needed help or directions.Restaurants were mediocre for lunch/dinner and over priced but we all gave breakfast buffet two thumbs up and if anything, spend your money here, something for everyone! The waitstaff were outstanding. We enjoyed all the resort amenities - ping pong, basketball, water park/pool etc. Room was oversized, clean, updated and nice view from balcony. After we arrived at next hotel on Riverwalk, everyone agreed we made a mistake and should have stayed at JW. Having been traveling for 10 days and 4 different hotels, JW was by far the best for cleanliness, professional service and actually having staff! Not a 5 star stay as things could have been better for a 5 star experience.

Service was horrible. Pool was packed with no place to sit and rude waiters/waitresses. They need to be trained on what real customer service is. Cibolo Moon restaurant buffet is overpriced for dinner and quite frankly did not care for the food. Blackened catfish was baked, ribs were dry and super salty. The Brisket was too greasy... Took 3 tries to get us the correct room. I have been a loyal Marriott customer for many year both for personal as well as corporate. I can say I am not happy with this last experience.

The resort is absolutely beautiful and very family friendly. Staff members were very friendly and attentive. I’m not giving the full 5 stars because the cleanliness was not what I’d expect from a 5 star resort. Our hotel room had pubic hairs, scalp hairs, dust, and urine around the base of the toilet and splotches of water and likely some sort of soap in the shower. It had clearly not been well-cleaned, if at all. In addition, the very back pool was quite dirty. I can deal with leaves and some debris at an outdoor pool, but this had a lot of built-up leaves and debris in the deep end of the pool, like DAYS worth. Staff were actively cleaning the lazy river, but no attention was given to the rear pool near the sand feature. I’m not speaking of sand (there was that too, but that’s expected when there’s sand nearby), this debris was dark in color and very built-up. It could have easily been scooped up and would have been much more appealing.

This is a top notch place for a family getaway that we've enjoyed a number of times.Lots to do with a fantastic water park, game rooms, excellent fitness center, daily planned activities for the young ones, and lots and lots of grounds to explore. The staff is super friendly and attentive as well.It could definitely use more dining choices so be prepared to order in or make a quick local jaunt when the hotel is full. This spring break week they were doing in-room dining for an only $5 flat service charge which was unexpected but awesome! We will be back again and again.

We had an excellent time recently at the JW Marriott. The grounds are immaculate and the activities for kids and families are excellent, from the pools, slides, to the scavenger hunt, slime making, etc. The best part of the trip was the staff. Yazmin at the front desk did everything possible to ensure we had a great trip from helping arrange room accommodations, to helping with questions and even delivering a handwritten welcome letter. Thanks again and we will definitely be back!

My Wife and I were blessed to be a part of the Bridal Expo this past January, showcasing our Travel Agency and it was awesome. The staff was accommodating and the grounds were well kept. I wish we could stay there for a week and maybe play some golf!

Really nice hotel but I removed one star because they make you pay a resort fee. This would be fine if you plan on using the water park but a lot was either shut down because of the cold weather or because they were doing renovations. This should clearly be told to you when booking or they should give you a partial or full refund of your resort fee.

What a great date night! We decided to go all out and spend money on this date night and….Man, was it worth it!Started off with the spa, which was most expensive massage and facial that I have ever paid for. But the best spa that I had ever been to with amazing amenities and a true sense of relaxation. We went to the adult pool later and spent the day in the sun. The wait staff was amazing. Had dinner at their in house steakhouse which was a great experience as well.Overall, this trip was more than expected in terms of what an amazing, relaxing date night should be. But it didn’t come at a small price, keep that in mind. Would do this once a year with the hubby!

We stayed here on New Years Eve. Beautiful property. Gorgeous Christmas decorations. Kid friendly activities and water park. There was lot of things for children to do on New Years Eve, an entire ballroom with games, inflatables, hot chocolate bar, etc.... Wasn't really too much for the adults, except for sitting in the bar or outside. Was expecting a large ballroom for the adults with music, dancing, champagne and party favors to celebrate at midnight. None of that. The place was crazy busy, and short staffed. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and stocked with goodies. Beautiful view.

We always enjoy our stay at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country. The rooms are always nice and the staff friendly. The ground of this property is beautiful. A great getaway for couples or families. Great restaurants and offering of activities to enjoy. The Lantana Spa is one of the reasons we continue to come back. The services are worth the cost. They have quite a few amenities to enjoy besides the actual service you paid for. I would definitely recommend this property.
