We were trying to decide what to eat along the Riverwalk and after passing 4 different restaurants, we decided to give Iron Cactus a try. The lunch service was fast as our entrees came out before we even finished our appetizer. The waitress was friendly and very attentive. The combo fajitas for 2 was definitely worth the price. We were full and completely satisfied. I would definitely recommend as a place for quick bites along the Riverwalk.

We ate here twice we liked it so much. Our server “Cody” was amazing!! The servers make fresh guacamole at your table (so good) . The crab stuffed jalapeños were amazing! It is right on the Riverwalk so the landscaping is beautiful. The have fans for their outdoor tables to help keep you cool. The only thing we did not like was the chicken fajitas (really dry), but we would definitely go back. Yum!!

No reservations, waited for an hour, can’t select inside or out. Few tables outside. We were seated inside and incredibly noisy. Wife and I couldn’t hear each other as we waited another half hour for food. Will not be back!

Great food!! All of our choices were top notch and the mango margarita was incredible too. The place was very busy and we seated 6 people almost immediately.

Great food, atmosphere and service. We sat outside, loved sitting right on the river walk. Kelley was an amazing server, never had to ask for anything. The homemade guacamole prepared right at the table was cool and really yummy. All of our food was delicious. My son got the stuff avocados, I got the salmon salad and my dad got the enchiladas. Absolutely no complaints. Loved my strawberry margarita. Dessert we had the Mexican donut, which I’m pretty sure were made to order and the Tres Leche. I couldn’t decide which I liked better. So happy we choice to eat here. Definitely one of the best experiences I’ve had eating out while on vacation. Would definitely go again.

We put our name in and we’re told it was a 30 minute wait. 20 minutes later we were seated inside. It was very dark inside. It took a long time to receive our Black Heart margarita (it was good). Definitely try the Picadillo Purses- excellent! Bathrooms were abundant.

Visited this place for lunch on a Sunday. Location is perfect. Right on the Riverwalk. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. We had about a 35 min wait, which is to be expected. We were seating inside. The place is great for tequila lovers. The menu offers tequila flights along with many drinks. They give you a big basket of chips and 2 types of salsa. I ordered the chicken fajitas with a margarita, and my daughter ordered cheese enchiladas. It was easy to make substitutions as well. Food was good but nothing spectacular. Prices were a little high, especially for cocktails. Margarita wasn’t anything to brag about and quantity was small. Service was wonderful.

The scenery is nice had a horrible experience the first time 7 years ago and gave it another try. They were out of a lot of menu options. They don’t have sweat tea. The server was attentive. The food was ok but wouldn’t recommend it.

Let me preface this by saying it takes A LOT for me to leave a bad review. I wanted to like this place. It came highly recommended by a friend & was extremely busy so I figured it would live up to the hype. I requested a table for one and was told it would be a 40 minute wait (on a Sunday night). It took around 30 minutes to get the text and I was seated outside under an umbrella. It took probably 15 minutes to be acknowledged by my waiter and he told me he was new so I let it go. It was honestly the worst service I've ever had in terms of wait times & being ignored. It was hot (as you would expect in south Texas in May) and I asked for a refill THREE times (every single time he came to my table) and never got it. The waiter seemed to have a good attitude but that's all I can say that's positive. Now, the table behind me ordered alcohol and somehow got waited on much more quickly and attentively by the same waiter. It became clear at that point I wasn't spending enough money to earn his attention. But maybe had he actually returned to my table more than to take my order, check on my order and give me my check I could've spent more - but guess he didn't care about that. Either way, I wouldn't return here after this experience. Should I have spoken up for myself? Yes, but by the time I got my food I was so ready to leave I just let it go so I could get out of there and back to my hotel where I could get myself something to drink. The chips & salsa tasted fine. The food I ordered (chicken enchilidas) was extremely bland compared to the mexican fare I'm used to. If you've been here before and had a better experience, great. Otherwise, give another one of the Riverwalk restaurants a shot.

3 to 3.5 stars.Nice place on the Riverwalk, convenient next to a boat tour stop. The food was petty good but nothing spectacular. The steak is more tender than it looks, and the salsas were tasty! We did get seated right away as a party of 2 outside, and the staff was helpful and friendly.
