Look at the reviews they talk about portion size, great view of the fish etc.... Are you kidding me? This place should not be in business. I was impressed by the atmosphere when I arrived and looked at google reviews thinking what the hey? It was awful. It was lunch, I ordered Curry Chicken lunch special. It came out in six mins and it tasted like it. What was clear is that the food was all made ahead of time and they warmed it up . The chicken, was thick and tasteless, the rice was "Spanish rice" not Chinese. The egg roll tasted like it was left over from several days before. I could not take more than one bite. The fact that there was no one there at 12:00 noon should have been a sign shame on me. I must say even the "Hot" chili oil was not hot how does that happen? The coke was good served in a big glass, but while I asked for a coke I think it was really a pepsi. They do not serve beer or wine so don't even think about that. Do your self a favor and don't even consider including take out.
Service is beyond unacceptable! Seated with my 3 children for about 15 minutes watching the waitress tend to another couple that just walked and immediately was served while me and my children are just sitting there waiting for our order to be taken. The gentleman I’m front was polite and the food is great! But being ignored and sitting there for that long without acknowledgement vs the others that walked in and were served immediately isn’t ok.
This is the second time that we are eating the food from House of Joy first time egg rolls were fantastic fried dumplings were the best but the shrimp rangoon's was a big mistakeNow today April 13th we were at The UPS Store and decided to go do a pick up food at House of Joy this would be our second time so we ordered lunch specials. I ordered General Tso chicken and it wasn't even spicy the rice was dry and I was so disappointed. Even the egg rolls were too dry, and hard no matter how much Duck Sauce I put on there it did not help very very disappointed. Oh and let's not forget the egg drop soup to me it had a funny taste like a metal taste so that was my Venture AT House of Joy I think it's going to be awhile before I go back
This is my absolute favorite place to eat! I’ve been going here since I was kid. I have great memories here. The food has always been hot and fresh. The restaurant is very clean. The owner is wonderful and always friendly (not the same owner from when I was a kid, but far superior service). I try to stop by as often as I can, but since I don’t live as close as I used to, that is not always possible. It is 20 minutes away from me, but if I want Chinese, I would definitely drive the 20 minutes to go here before anywhere else. Love the beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, lemon chicken, pork chop suey, egg rolls, crabmeat rangoon, and egg drop soup are all my favorites, and are wonderful dishes here (in my opinion).
First time here. I had the hunan chicken and it was so flavorful! It had just the right amount of spice and veggies. Service was great. The atmosphere, decor, is gorgeous. Will definitely be coming back.
Three of us. My lemon chicken was totally a disappointment -- very dry meat, and if I was blindfolded, I would never have imagined it was lemon -- didn't taste or look lemony. The others had lo mein shrimp and lo mein combo -- both said it was good. Egg flower soup goid. Servers are polite and efficient.
Food is really good. Fresh and hot. Restaurant is very clean. Plenty of parking. Clean restrooms. Hostess is very friendly. I highly recommend it.
The interior is pretty cool looking! Now for the bad stuff.... For starters, the waitress/server was extra rude as if she had flooded her own toilet. Not a single nicety. She was blunt and should go out and buy herself a personality. The food was plentiful but lacked flavor. Also, I was unable to figure out what the "beef" really was. I ordered beef fried rice but not sure what I was eating. One thing I know for sure is that I'll never eat there again
My first time dining here. I loved the food. Service was good. Prices were decent.
Ordered the Triple Delight with fried rice to go. I get home to 2 huge mounds of white rice. Main entree serving was small, tasteless and watery. The egg roll was tough and dry. I didn’t want to drive to my my normal place so I thought I’d try this. Wrong decision. I won’t be coming here again. The place was empty and the front worker was not friendly at all.
