I LOVE Groomer's! Unfortunately, we live outside the city and it is 45 miles away. So, I don't get there as often as I'd like. Whenever I have the opportunity and I'm nearby, I head over there. The fish is quite fresh and cut when I place my order. The service is efficient and very courteous. The prices are more than competitive. Oh, and they always pack it in ice so forgetting to take my cooler is not a problem. I haven't yet used the curbside service but it is intriguing. Likely even more efficient!
Best seafood source on the planet and service is off the chart. When the pandemic hit, they quickly figured out the best way to safely continuing serving their customers.
Delicious and beyond fresh!!!! Excellent portions and variety of real seafood—shellfish and wild caught fish from all over the world. Our deliveries never smell fishy, are either frozen(if ordered frozen shrimp) or super cold if ordered fresh never frozen items, and we have never had a problem with deliveries, missing items, or freshness. We have ordered from Groomer’s for well over 5 years and will continue to do so as well as recommend to anyone who wants THE BEST and FRESHEST seafood.
Ordering our fish from Groomer's has changed our lives. We eat more fish regularly. We enjoy it more. And our cholesterol has dropped dramatically! With a fine selection of really fresh products, we order often.
First, the experience is fun. When you go inside you can see the fish that they will cut for your order. Don’t worry if you don’t know what to do, the staff is very helpful.Monthly fish delivery has been great. You get four portions each of two different fish per person. Generous portions. Flash frozen. . Always delicious.
We have been purchasing "Fresh Seafood" from Groomers for about 15 years. Recommended by a Very Good Friend....and her recommendation stands good. Customer Service is Always Tops...and Honesty is Tops. Have never had a bad piece of seafood ....Never. Cannot say that about the grocery stores. From the Boat to McCullough to My House says it all.
If you want really fresh seafood, Groomers is THE place to get it in San Antonio. They provide seafood for at least 2500 restaurants that demand it be fresh. I’ve been getting my fresh fish there for years and have never been disappointed with the seafood or the service. They also carry a wide variety of specialty items and equipment to compliment your next gourmet seafood dinner.
I've lost track of the people I've HIGHLY recommended Groomers to. There is nobody, NOBODY who sells fresher seafood. Yeah, some sell cheaper but you want your $ going to some giant company, or keep it local with local employees who take care of you? In the 20+ years we've been going a customer, I've had 1 bad piece of fish and a return was not an issue. I've watched them grow from a wholesale place w/a counter to being a turnkey customer operation and couldn't be happier for their success. In fact, we seldom eat seafood out because we'd rather get and cook our Groomers at home- at 1/3rd the price of eating out- and most high end restaurants in SA GET THEIR SEAFOOD from Groomers!
