We headed to Ding How, but they had a sign that said no lunch specials on Memorial day. So we headed to Golden Wok, and thank goodness we did. Not only did they have lunch specials they were welcoming. We enjoyed the combination plate specials with tea. Well it was just delicious food and the serving was huge!
We stopped in for a late lunch based on recommendations from our neighborhood FB page. We opted for the Lunch Special of Shrimp Stir Fry which included Egg Drop Soup, fried rice, and Wonton. The veggies and shrimp were done to perfection; not like some places where it sits and gets soggy. Service was great. Max kept our iced tea filled answered all our questions. The menu had plenty of options; so, we’ll be back for more.
The first Chinese Restaurant I experience. I couldn’t be convinced to go. One day someone brought home leftovers when they came over to our apartment back in 1975. I was encouraged to just give it a try. Lemon chicken, beef and broccoli, Mandarin Duck, egg Rolland pork fried rice. We went the very next day and have been hooked on Golden Wok since then. Cantonese steak not on menu but one of my favorite dishes!! 5 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️!!!
Fast and very good food!?
Absolutely wonderful food. I went just after their lunch hr ended (2:50, lunch ends at 2:30) and so it wasn't busy (don't know how busy lunch gets but with being close to Lackland, I can assume it might get busy). Ordered their spring rolls (which are egg roll sized not the skinny spring rolls), egg drop soup (which is served with a garnish of green onion but no other vegetables, which is why I picked this place) and beef with broccoli (served with sliced carrots). Everything was amazing and I will definitely be coming back. One of the waitresses saw me picking put the carrots (not a fan and I usually always pick them out) and she told me that they will make to order and so I can ask them to leave them out next time, which I always assume is just me being picky but she was really nice about letting me know. Didn't take any pictures of the food but did of me receipt.
This a nice local place. Food is always good and hot. They have daily lunch specials at a decent price. Our waitress was very nice and on the spot.
Ok service was great, but my plate was horrible a lemon ? chicken ? they're deep fried the chicken, with the skin on it, is nasty the flavor, oily greasy, I did ask the waiters if the chicken is breaded and baked, she's said yes..it wasn't..I'm disappointed ?, never back again....compares the lemon chicken from Ding How,never...My regards...Francisco Ayala..besides, we spent too much, cuz we ordered a lot of food only 3 of us..
Awful Awful Awful. If I could give zero stars I would. We asked for Tea and I specified for 4 people. 4 cups. The waitress brought out 4 POTS of tea. The plates were dirty and had old rice on it which then had to be brought to the back and replaced with a clean one. We ordered dumplings. The dumplings came out raw and we didn’t notice until after my fiancé and father already ate the raw shrimp. I spit mine out and showed them the other dumplings that were raw. Don’t even bother with the white rice. The grains are hard because it’s not cooked all the way. This is a cheap business technique. By having half cooked white rice ready they can use that to make fried rice. But no one bothers to actually make decent cooked white rice. Awful service. All these issues and no one tried to come to us to make it better. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry and this was absolutely not okay.
Bar : Good customer service!! Great staff , the food was cooked quick and really delicious along with the drink can't forget the hurricane mix
Ordered for curbside but it was not available due to “staff shortage” so picked up to go.Meal was good and well-packed. Prices were average. Added extra shrimp at home to the lo-mein left overs.
