I've driving by Gino's thousands of times and thought it was a convenience store. I noticed a friend, who is a foodie, favorably posted about Gino's during the pandemic so I decided to try it this week. The customer service was excellent, food delicious and the ambiance is casual NY deli. They have community tables and everyone was very friendly. The price is more than reasonable.
THE best sandwich shop we've eaten at in a long time. Based on the reviews, we decided to give Gino's a try while on vacation. We are SO glad we did. Gino's is a small deli located as part of a convenience store. We were skeptical at first when we drove up, but all that went away when we walked in the door. We were immediately greeted by a very friendly lady who welcomed us and explained the menu and gave us recommendations. I had the Smoke Stack sandwich and my wife had the Italian sandwich. Both were VERY good. I SO wished this place was in my town. HIGHLY recommend Gino's!!!
I came to Ginos Deli to try something new from their menu. I talked to Jim and I asked him that I wanted to try something new yet its already on the menu. He told me to try out the bacon cheeseburger with Jalapenos as more folks are getting that these days. I was ok lets do it and he took my order. My food came out in less than 10 minutes and I was able to pick it up from the counter. After my first bite, I was in love! The burger and bacon ratio was pretty good and of course they stuffed it with a ton of jalapenos. Best bacon cheese burger with jalapenos ever. I had to say thank you to the cook for making this delicious burger and thank you Jim for helping me out.
I have enjoyed coming to Gino's Deli these past few months during my lunch break from work. I tried something different on the menu than the traditional Philly that I would usually get. I talked to Jim at Gino's and he showed me the items they had on the menu. After looking through the menu, I decided to try the Smoke Stack Sandwich. After waiting in just mere minutes, very fast even during the chaos of lunch time, I got my sandwich. The bacon is so crisp in this sandwich and the sauce is so good. I don't know if its a secret sauce or something but it has the right amount of spice that wouldn't burn my mouth completely and compliments the cheese and meat. Fantastic sandwich and will be getting another one soon. Thank you Jim for the recommendation of that sandwich.
I don't know who needs to hear this but they need to hear it: The Smokestack at Gino's Deli is amazing. The first time my husband and I went to Gino's for a lunch date, we had a Philly sandwich. The Philly was amazing and I wanted see what else Gino's offers the next time we came around. The second time we came back, we talked with Jim and he helped us out as we wanted to try something different. Jim let us know of the Smokestack and we each bought a sandwich to try. My husband couldn't even look at me as he ate the whole thing. After my first bite, I didn't realize I can taste flavors. I could taste every single ingredient in this sandwich. My husband and I will be back and we will again enjoy our lunch date with another smokestack sandwich.
I came with my grandchildren to Ginos to try out their food. I am hesitant to try it as many places put too much pepper or spices that will hurt my stomach at my age. The people there were very friendly, said Hi to my grand children and took our order quick. I told one of them of my dilemma and he recommended the double cheese burger. I was able to order the double cheese burger and it was so good. I couldn't stop eating the burger and ate it all. I didn't cough or get an upset stomach like I would normally do at various places. Thank you to the person that helped me and my grand children at this place. We will surely be back to get another meal. Margot Rubio
Holy Smokes! How can you not rate this philly! I came by after all this Yelp hype to try out their Philly and see for myself. Well, I should have came by earlier! Philly was cooked so good, the meat so soft and the bread was so tender. Yes, bread tender?! Anyways, I'm now a fan and will be coming here again soon!
Popped into Gino's Deli today for lunch. They were busy but not overly crowded. My family and I loved our sandwiches. We had hot pastrami and roast beef sandwiches, both were so delicious. The staff was friendly, helpful, and didn't rush us to order. We will definitely be back soon.
Been hearing about Gino’s and fortunately was in the area to try it. First and very important, staff was great. Friendly and informed on the options as a first timer. Service was efficient. Went with the popular cheesesteak. It was good. A bit more seasoning on the meat is what was needed for me. The fresh bread was outstanding. Good, fresh ingredients. Looking forward to returning to try some of the other sandwich options.
This is what a deli is all about. The people are great, friendly and helpful. I had the smokehouse and it could not have been better. This is definitely a stop for me when I’m in San Antonio
