Great rock bar with great drinks and prices!
This review isn't about Faust, but about Ghost Town Pizza. A by the slice restaurant within the Faust bar.The pizza here is fantastic. Each bite of the slice I had was an ever growing layer of flavor. On this trip I purchased the P,B&J. Pepperoni, Bacon, and Jalapeño. The slice was loaded with ingredients and only had enough sauce to bind them together, and only enough cheese on top to keep the PB&J from sliding off the crust, which was then topped with a liberal amount of fresh sliced basil. The real show off portion of this slice was the crust. Each bite had a deliciously good crunch from a perfect crust. Not a crisp bottom against the oven crunch with the rest as soggy bread like all other pizza restaurants, nor an overcooked tortilla type crust like South Flo. This was an unexpected improvement on what my minds eye thought of as a crisp crust. I can't put it totally into words, but can only tell you to go try it for yourself. The owner JC, has taken this American institution of culinary delight we know as pizza to a new level. One I'm glad to have partaken in.One other aspect of Ghost Town that makes the trip worth it is the staff. Totally professional and friendly. When I went I was hosted by Lucas. He qas very helpful in offering recommendations of both which slice would suit my best, as well as which Mexican soda flavor would pair best with the slice I chose. Well deserving the tip I paid him as a gratitude to his help.Ghost Town Pizza will be a once a week adventure for me as well as it should be you at a minimum.
Nice place to get a drink. Relaxing atmosphere on the outside patio. Try the pizza. It's very good.
Never crazy busy when I've been and if it's your type of scene then the music is good and the atmosphere is cool.
Should you be in the central SW area of San Antonio - especially a little later after sunset Faust is a secret. Don't tell anyone. Keep the seat to yourself and enjoy this accepting place. You can go to any bar and say they are unique and Faust fits that condition! We were only in San Antonio for a couple of days and hungry after coming from Big Bend NP. We arrived in town late and they have Fantastic Pizza (they have recently switched to a pizza kitchen - and who doesn't like pizza and beer in the later hours of the night??)They have a great curated/smart offering of drinks, beer, and pizza, seating, a patio, bike friendly, safety, and {most importantly} a punk and grunge friendly central quality of spirit. Faust won't ask you to a crossroad in life, but they do have great pizza, beer/shot specials, and a place to be able to chat.
Crowded as always but a good place to hang with friends and meet new ones.
Cool bar off the strip. Good selection of craft beers and cocktails...
Low-key spot with great drinks, staff and metal \m/
Pretty interesting place. Visited here with a musician friend of mine and we liked it a bit until one of the staff walked over to him and without saying anything took his full beer he just bought out of his hand and threw it away. To be honest it was near closing time but i have no idea why that bonehead did that.. though otherwise i really dug it. Nice music, entertaining, interesting stuff around. Robot Monster Guitars close by- all around a win.
inexpensive drinks, good music and everyone is ALWAYS friendly
