First time here was on a Monday! Service was great!! I love the monfongo! Authentic Puerto Rican food I'm half Cuban so this is the closest restaurant to eat for me whenever I'm craving Cuban food!

The food their seems pretty good, im an Uber driver and I kept getting orders to go to this place, food looks great! The women workers are nice and helpful.

I’m in San Antonio for a conference and wanted something other than hotel food. I ordered through mofongo, carne frita, arroz con fandules, flan and Puerto Rican Coco Rico. As a native Puerto Rican, I can attest the flavor of this food was like being in the Island!! Truly authentic…. Despite of distance and driving time, food had the perfect temperature. Uber Eat and got it delivered. I am beyond pleased!! Highly recommend.

A lot of portion. Good price during lunch time.

El Pilon was a great find. We were passing by heading into Fort Sam and just had to stop and check it out. While they have everything you expect from a typical Puerto Rican restaurant, I have to say they have made some interesting and delicious twists. Mofongo is no longer just Mofongo. They have duofongo and even trifongo which add yucca and sweet plantains to the masa for unique and unexpected flavors. Definitely recommended.

Best Puerto Rican restaurant in San Antonio-10-10! everything is made from scratch. The taste of the roasted Pernil, rice with pigeon peas (rice with gandules) and yucca mofongo with shrimp reminds me of my mom's food. The Alcapurria Yuka and Pasteles Superb---delicious!!!I no longer have to travel to Puerto Rico......

Friendly staff! We got there after the dining room closed, so we placed our order to go.The food was great! I had the roasted pork and sweet plantains. Finished off with flan that was also very good.Glad we found El Pilon Sabor Boricua!

First time visiting, great approach and attention. We went a bit after lunch, no rotisserie chicken available. The trifongo was very tasty, the garlic mojo as well. Was disappointed with the Pollo al ajillo, wasnt expecting chicken cut up pieces or chunks. The beefsteak was milanesa instead and kind of salty for my taste. The carne frita was good. So overall was a mixed experience, half good half disappointing.

The food here amazing, they give you portions large enough to take home or pigout like i did haha. The two servers are really nice and take care of you while you're there.

My wife and I have eaten here a few times now, never disappoints us . I truly enjoy the Cuban sandwich and my wife favorite is the Mofongo with shrimp.
