We treated ourselves to an exquisite dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The food and the ambiance was flawless. The food was seasoned perfectly, the salmon melted in your mouth, and the steak cut like butter. The servers had great wine and food suggestions for us. We will definetley be back when in San Antonio and refer others. It is a 10 out of 10!!!
Visiting San Antonio yet the dinner left me with a strong feeling that I was so lucky to have found one of the very best restaurants in this area (if not the). The glass of rosé brought back life in me after a day of scorching sunshine (it’s only April!). My friend and I both agreed that the beets was the best beets dish we’ve ever had - a wonder of harmony composed of cheese, granola, cocoa (the most ingenious touch), balsamic, etc. The white mushroom salad was very popular yet we both found it puzzling - dominated by too strong an acidity and little else. For entrées, get the spinach & ricotta agnolotti - sth that would make you close your eyes to fully enjoy and savor its gustatory beauty, just marvelous! On a par was the shrimp a la plancha - I always had a presupposition that shrimps dishes tasted all more or less the same and thus rather uninteresting - until I tried this one. The tender yet firm texture and masterful flavor exceeded any expectation. And a wonderful night concludes with a wonderful dessert - called crunch bar featuring very crispy shell holding the perfect not-too-sweet dark chocolate mousse inside :)
My husband and I very much enjoy memorable dining experiences with amazing food, knowledgeable wine pairing and sincere and detailed service. This dinner was in the top two of our dining history of 14 years. Kevin was more than helpful and attentive as our server. And there was friendly helpful service along with one of the best desserts I have ever had! I highly recommend Clementine!
Our food was spectacular ! We had the special razor clam app and that was incredible . For dinner the Ricotta Cavatelli and the chamomile brined Chicken. I would travel back to Texas for those three dishes ! Outstanding.
We liked this restaurant and the food was good. But honestly, it seemed over rated to me. We did the "Feed Me" menu for two and thought was good, but not totally unbelievably good. There are 7 dishes, 3 of which are desserts and of them I'd say 4 were really fantastic and the other 3 I probably wouldn't have ordered. The service is pleasant, although sometimes a little out of sync. Some times we got our dish served but we had no plates or silverware. Kind of sad to not be able to eat reallly good food when its hot. The restaurant is popular and is very crowded. Its a restaurant in a stripmall so if you get the "patio" you are eating on the parking lot side looking onto a busy 4 lane road.
This was my first time at Clementine and I attended their Mardi Gras Feed Me event! I highly recommend going to these events because everything is absolutely amazing. The food was so good, and very unique. I really loved the snapping turtle stew, not sure where else I could try that in San Antonio! Staff was very attentive and nice. They went into detail about the dishes, and answered all of our questions. The owner John was really kind and friendly. I can’t wait to go back!
Got the seven course feed-me tasting menu. You wouldn’t know in advance what the dishes were, but we did get a thoughtful warning that the main course could be a whole fish if we were ok with that (to which we were and turned out great). Had a lot of fun with a wide variety of ingredients and flavors; will recommend.
Okay so, the thing with this place, it’s not a restaurant but an experience. The dishes are all so carefully crafted you can see how much though goes into every bite. You have to do the “feed me” menu at least once!
The dish outcome doesn’t correlate with the price point. The restaurant was deplete of almost all of the handful of beer selections offered on the menu. The descriptors of the dishes are interesting however leaves much to one’s imagination of what is to come. Overall, my palate was left unimpressed. I will say, however, the staff was cordial and polite. It is indeed crowded, therefore may want to consider this for those seeking a more socially distanced venue and experience. The couple behind me were essentially neck to neck in distance. The table to the left of me was within an arm’s reach of distance.
This is an excellent place to enjoy some wine and a fine dining "feed me" experience. Our server did a great job convincing us to let the kitchen surprise us with 7 courses, but they were happy to include a specific menu item at our request. The staff was quite friendly, knowledgeable, and fun to talk to. Service was impressively fast. The dishes were unique, with high-quality ingredients, and some outside-the-box flavor combinations. They made me love dishes I probably would have never went out of my way to try. The flame tart (an 8th course they kindly threw in) was one of the most memorable bites. I don't think my tastebuds will ever forget those cardamom donuts either. I've left hungry after doing a tasting menu at other places before, but everything was very rich and satisfying here. You can definitely expect a five star experience at Clementine!
