Went to cheesy James today to get a chicken breast Burger and a large tater tots. The tater tots were good but when you take them out of course they get saggy. Service at the register was quite slow because they have only one register and they also use it to ring up phone customer and take out orders.The chicken Burger was almost cooked to deathBeing dryAnd almost crunchy forA chicken breast that was much smaller than I would have imagined and covered only about 2/3 of the bun.Cheesy James typically makes a very nice Burger but nice Burger but I don't think I could recommend the chicken Burger from here on out.
My daughter and I stopped by after a day at the DoSeum and it did not disappoint! I got the Jammin Jane burger with coke zero, a 1/3 pound deluxe bacon burger with tots and a mint chocolate chip Oreo shake for my daughter and a comal burger with onion rings to go for my boyfriend at home. It was $55 before tip so expect to spend a bit, but the quality of food is on par for what you're paying. The onion rings were so flavorful, best I've had in San Antonio so far honestly. The burgers were juicy and flavorful and the bacon on my burger was a big slice. The jam on my burger kind of reminded me of barbecue sauce. Mad Mack's was my favorite before this, but I think Juicy Jane's ties for first place now ?
It's great here! I remember coming long ago, and knowing it wasn't spectacular, but upon a revisit I was pleasantly surprised to see and taste that this place is some seriously good hamburgers. Don't believe the detractors, my sandwich juicy and packed with flavor. They cooked it to a perfect medium and no toppings or fixings felt out of place. The service was very friendly and I felt very welcomed by the staff. Take a look here and enjoy some home style burgers.Overall: [A-]
We came in to eat the burgers they were good but not worth all this money we just got a receipt just a price.We realize it was a lot so we calculated it I went back for an itemized receipt and here’s a picture below I posted. They charge $2.50 for each burger for grilled onions. Already paying $12 for a burger they should’ve of charged for this. It’s pretty missed up they should of gave us a heads up for this charge. We are from outta town and I just told my fiancé we will come back but not going to come back but after this. It’s crazy ridiculous.
My go-to is the southwest burger. 1/2 pound patty fills you up for sure. Over the border mayo is my main reason why i never want to order anything else. Love ❤️ that stuff. Its placed on the side and its a great amount. My downfall was that i ordered my meal carry out. The bottom bun was soggy once i got home. Bummer. Although maybe that could be avoided next time, only if i ask for the lettuce and pickles to be put on TOP of the meat instead of UNDER it ? Also wish there was meal options in the menu. Sadly, everything is ordered separately. I added tater tots and a strawberry banana milk shake. I got plenty ketchup packets, salt, and napkins (which i hate having to go back & ask for) Overall, DELICIOUS food. Great service.
I think it's really 3 and 1/2 stars..I guess it's this way: some things at Cheesy Jane's are perfect like their hamburger sliders with cheese...just great! And their shakes and yes, even malts are first rate and 5 star worthy any where..but I can't truly say that there's a whole lot that separates it from any number of other good burger places. I mean I have a thing about French Fries: I DON'T WANT FROZEN ONES POURED FROM A BAG: IM sorry. Call me nuts, but frozen reheated french fries just don't cut it for me. They just don't taste nearly as good as the fresh cut and fried. If I go out to pay for a burger and fries, I expect the restaurant or chain to do something I can't or don't want to do at home...But if your on Broadway in San Antonio and hungry for a hamburger you wouldn't go wrong to pull in there.
Absolutely delicious food and great service. One employee mentioned they hadn't been so busy in a year and we still got our food in a reasonable amount of time. The tater tots were crispy and delicious. The burgers were amazing. We will definitely be back.
First time coming here after buying our Christmas tree and the food was really good. Staff was friendly, quick service, if you happen to be nearby or NOT it's definitely a must. Pricing caught us off guard, not on our budget at the moment but honestly, the food and service made it worth it (this time around) ? next time which their will definitely be a next time, we'll be prepared. ?
Second time here and it was just as amazing as the first time! The burger were cooked to perfection! And those fries... YUM! Slightly crispy on the outside and warm on the inside. We had an oreo malt. It was more than enough for 2. Staff was nice and made sure we had everything we needed. There was music but not too loud which was perfect.
Absolutely delicious. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with the cheese bun. *chefs kiss* well cooked juicy chicken breast with a good amount of char from the grill and the ingredients were beyond what I've found in stores. Pickles almost seemed homemade. Large, crunchy and full of flavor. Right outside of Fort Sam and I know I'll be coming here frequently
