Having grown up in SE SA in 1960-70s I have fond memories of the name Captain Jim’s as my dad David Jemeyson took our big family there often.Was over in the area today when my husband took me by to pick up some fried fish he heard was really good. The place was named Captain Jim’s.After I ate this plate lunch .. I had to call the guy to ask if that fish was frozen ( because there is no way I could imagine batter done so perfectly) but. the gentleman on the phone said no, it’s fresh. He said any day of the week you can find it standing there dipping n battering fresh fish.BEST FISH I HAVE EVER HAD!It was absolutely delicious ! Will drive there from NE SA anytime I want good fish eating !I forgot to ask him if he was related to the other Captain Jim! Nextime!

Fish was good no lie ? The chicken was old wasn't sitting there too long old. I'm talking about pulled out of some cooler and refried! I am trying to support local businesses but if This is the way they operate their business, shame on them.
The fish is not as good. As it used to be. Your better off buying fish elsewhere.
I had the two piece chicken, fries and a sweet tea for under $3.50. Great price. Great food. ??

I never thought I'd say this... but ONE fish filled me up! The best fried fish I've had in a really really long time! And picked up in the Southside and drove home back to medical center and the crunch was still there!! And what pairs best with it was that amazin SOUTHERN SWEET TEA? I'm in love thank Captain be back for the chicken soon!
