My wife and I went here to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary. I was a little reluctant because the menu choices did not seem overly appealing to me. But, we agreed to go since my wife had eaten here and really enjoyed it. What a great experience! We were initially being seated in the middle of the restaurant near the kitchen. We asked if we could have a more quiet area of the restaurant since we were celebrating our anniversary. The host quickly found us the perfect table. Then, the manager came over with two glasses of Champaign on the house. The other drinks were excellent. We started with a first course of sandwich au fromage raclette. It is not a traditional sandwich and was delicious. I ordered the couscous with merguez style sausage. It was cooked perfectly. My wife chose the baked branzino (Mediterranean sea bass) which was hot, flaky and delicious. While the food was very good, the server was exceptional. She was patient and very knowledgeable. She gave us great descriptions and guidance based on what we were asking. For someone reluctant to go to this restaurant, I can't wait to go back for lunch. Please don't tell my wife she was right...as usual.
This is the third time I have eaten at Mon Chou Chou and it was just as inconsistent as the last time. My guestâs steak was over cooked (ordered medium rare) and just slightly warm. She also asked for the extra topping to be put on the side. It never came and it was on the bill. My food was also barely warm. Not an impressive experience considering all of the hoopla about the resturant.
Jade was our server. She was excellent as a resource on the dishes to recommend. She was attentive without being bothersome. The food was extraordinary. We shot down for a day from Austin - man I wish you were here! There's nothing like Chou Chou - stellar comfort authentic French cuisine that I have experienced in my own town. Loved the variety in the menu, yet easy to comprehend. Lots of dishes but they all stand alone while complimenting each other. This birthday dinner made me want to live forever so I could return there every year!
Setting was perfect for the event followed by very helpful and friendly service from our server. To top it off the food was excellent this is a new favorite.
Overall, I thought it was a bit of a letdown from what the other reviews say. Iâll note the service was fantastic, as good as Iâve ever had. The food though was just ok, and given the price and reputation, I expected more. The popular Raclette appetizer wasnât much more then average cheese w ham and toasted bread. I ordered a steak which was good, but our other order was the couscous dish which was a major letdown. 90% of the dish was simply red sauce. Lastly, the crème brulet, was burnt to the point the top was almost inedible. Again, it wasnât âbadââ¦but for the price, the other options in the Pearl stand out as much better value
from start to finish our experience at Mon Chou Chou was 10/10. Xirida was our server on the patio and took the best care of us, they were attentive, knowledgeable and very kind! We had 4 courses for our meal and appreciated the attention to detail in all of our dishes. Desserts were fabulous and beautifully plated!
Love this place for brunch and cocktails.
Excellent service and beautiful food. Best steak tartare I have ever had. I will be bring people back to the restaurant just for that.
The food was fantastic but the hostess was unfriendly and seemed annoyed that we were bothering her with our presence. Our server was a little condescending. Would go back but hoping management trains their staff to be welcoming and helpful. That would have made our experience so much more pleasant!
Muy ruidoso
