I came in June 29th at 8:30, had Scallop with wild rice and lobster on the Tonight Special menu, the dish was $42 dollar and all I could taste was salt. I didn't even finish the dish because it was so salty. My husband had the quail dish and it tasted good.Somehow the chef just didn't taste the $42 dish before it left the kitchen....
Service - Excellent. Taste - Excellent. Plating - Photo Quality. Ambiance - French Bistro. The first time was Sunday Brunch with friends visiting from out of town. The second time was a few weeks later for dinner to verify the first time. Verified. Legitimate. Will be back.
While our son attended prom, my wife and I treated ourselves to Bistro 09. We arrived early, with reservations, and were seated immediately. Guests may choose indoor or outdoor seating. The ambiance is not overly elegant, nor quiet and at capacity, the dining can become somewhat clamorous. The crowd is typically older as ourselves. However, you will experience outstanding service and an exceptional meal! The seared foie gras and beef tenderloin bearnaise were meal choices we would readily return for; our primary server, Phillip, provided extraordinary service. Dinner for two (appetizer, dinner, drinks, shared dessert) with tip may approximate $200; the experience was priceless!
Excellent bar menu, cozy and good service.
Sazerac by Dom was perfection. The escargot was perfect, mussels were amazing and the summer blossom is a refreshing add.with a chocolate mouse finish. The bar is an atmosphere of its own. Highly recommend this Gem!
Service was great. Food was disappointing. Lobster risotto was gummy and lukewarm French onion soup was very “herby” that over powered the soup.
Tempura shrimp, Lobster risotto, lollipop chicken and duck confit…We feasted for date night at Bistrô 9 down the street.Swanky and festive.
Food was high level good. Better than most restaurants in San Antonio but not great. Seafood and salmon was very fresh. Some dishes were creative. The fried chicken plate is large. The perfect storm appetizer is high priced but looks impressive and may be worth the money. No steaks. Menu is limited with no description. It changes regularly. There is no cocktail menu. They make margaritas with sprite. Our waiter was very cold, rude at times, yet attempted to sell our party several times on tequila shots. It did not have an upscale vibe. For the money I might choose another place mostly because of service, ambience, and lack of cocktails. There is one vegan option/entree.
One of the best dining experiences I have had in San Antonio!
This is a high end restaurant. As such, it does not measure up.Service is excellent. Decor is good, cleanliness is excellent. Food is hit and miss. Appetizer was excellent, main course, Pheasant, was a disappointment and the dessert, well... Let's just say I've made that same recipe out of Eating Well magazine and I make it much better. The mousse was fine, the berries were frozen and the cookie was burnt. Cocktail was okay.$220 for that. Nope.Skip it and skip it hard. You can get a lot more for a lot less in this town.
