The bratwurst, knockwurst, and polish sausage are great. The pretzel was good and soft. It’s nice to seat looking at the river. If you don’t like greasy food, then sausages are not for you because they are greasy. I don’t like so much the German potatoes because they add a lot of vinegar, but this one tasted good.
The food was average for German food in the States. The prices were a little steep but, I’m sure it’s due to the location. The service was fast. I’d recommend this as a quick bier and brat stop.
Loved the beer, and food, and ambience! The live music was a bit loud, but the place was not super crowded on Tuesday night, so we moved away and had lots of fun!
I’d like to give this a higher rating but cannot. First, they have HB all over the place similar to the famous Haufbrau brand including their beers but they only call this a beirgarten. Ok fine. I’ve been to Munich and Cincinnati Haufbrau houses. This is not the same. The cheese is not beer cheese but carnival cheese. Real shame. Pretzels are not the same but ok. The bratwurst and polish sausage was really good with spicy mustard and kraut. No TVs and bad location buried a little off Riverwalk outside Hyatt basement doors. Staffing shortages make for long waits. Drafts beers not cold.
The food was good but if you're looking for authentic German then don't come here but the service was amazing even though they were busy.I couldn't figure out what beverage I wanted and my server brought me a flight with all the best German options and I had so much fun comparing them. I believe her name was Kelseay and she deserves a raise. She even took a picture of me with my Polaroid. I came by myself but I never felt lonely. This venue has hired some kind and genuine people who deserve raises so make sure you tip them well!
You have to try the Bavarian pretzels! Just know that the smaller one is big enough for 2 people. The sliders were the right size and were well spiced. The chicken sandwich was also quite good--everything was very fresh. We were there with a large group and found service to be solid. Our drinks were kept full, food was delivered to the right tables. This may be a restaurant on the Riverwalk, and therefore a potential tourist trap, but the food is good, and you'll be taken care of well. It's worth stopping in for a drink or meal.
Grew up in Germany... I can tell you great German dishes don't get any better than this. Authentic taste. Imported beer. Excellent service. ... Shout out to Amy who served us... fantastic.
Great atmosphere and music.Food a bit pricey and though it is German it is catered for American tourists.Three people shared a $42 sample platter. Overpriced..ridiculous and you don't even get a full brat, they cut pieces a certain way to make it look like your getting more on the plate. Even the sides where so small. But it didn't taste bad. We ordered and an extra pretzel. The beer was great.Stay away from the currywurst. As a German girl that makes this all the time, the curry sauce is a bad version of ketchup and tastes nothing like the traditional German curry wurst. Pretty disgusting.Otherwise, great place to hang out. However, there is always room for improvement. I would have given them 3.5 stars. But google wouldnt allow that.
So the hostess was great. Marketing not so much! “Buy a drink keep the glass” this is not true!!!! You buy a glass for $20 and get a $7 beer Included. Very deceiving marketing. We did enjoy our beer and our hostess Natasha was a hoot!
My choice to have a nice cold and refreshing beverage on a warm day! Staff is friendly and a nice gathering of customers.
