We had a great dining experience here! From the charcuterie board, to the drinks, pizza and dessert, this place blew us out of the water. The ingredients were fresh and the flavor was phenomenal! My most favorite part was all the great music and the vibe of the restaurant. We had been searching for a place that was not just a normal chain and did we hit the jackpot. I highly recommend the Blanche Devereux cocktail. This place is a must if you are living in or visiting San Antonio!

HORRIBLE decision. I was so excited to get Barbaro. I Could’ve gone with Chicago pizza that was full of toppings and flavor and instead I got a COLD, HALF-CUT, and skimpy $3 dollar toppings. Won’t be eating at Barbaro again, when it use to be a staple for me. Don’t order on door dash because they obviously don’t care. Take door dash off if it bothers you when you need to produce an order for it. Even Little Caesars puts more effort than what I got. Go to pizza classics or anywhere else instead.

A wonderful local pizza spot serving inventive dishes with quality ingredients. I’ve ordered food from here many times and have never been disappointed. The standouts are their clams casino pizza, calzones (add Calabrian chilis, you’re welcome), and their delicious salads. Whether you are dining in, taking out food, or getting delivery, you’ll be very pleased. Enjoy!

Barbaro offers some of the best Pizza, salad and cocktails I've had here in San Antonio. The restaurant has eclectic decor that fits well within the Monte Vista neighborhood. The restaurant is illuminated with candlelight, which makes for romantic and fun downtown pizza spot.Unfortunately the customer service here is always hit or miss. We have often come for Happy Hour and had to wait nearly an hour for our food. Recently I picked up a pizza from here and my order was lost. I had to wait half an hour for them to make an order that I placed an hour prior. The waiting staff are often rude, and rarely come by to check on our table. We now only order Barbaro for takeout. We have had too many bad experiences when dining in.

I came here with my family to celebrate my sons birthday. I can now see why Barbaro is always busy. The decor and vibe is very mellow and modern. When we were seated we were given a glass bottle of water for the table, which was replaced as we finished it. We ordered and our food was out quite quickly. Everything was piping hot and fresh. We ordered a variety of appetizers and ordered our main dishes as well. The garlic knots are absolutely delicious and fluffy and warm. I could eat a mountain of them. We ordered spaghetti and pizzas for our main course and let me be the first to say that I have never seen meatballs that size in spaghetti. It was amazing the size of these meatballs. The amount of food was plentiful for leftovers for the end of the day. The pizzas have a delicious crust and I could not get enough of how amazing it tasted. Luckily Barbaro does pizza Mondays if you want to try numerous pizzas and not spend a ton of money. This is a great place to meet up with friends for a drink also since they have a bar as well as a great selection of wine. It is also a nice cozy spot for a first date, any date really, or just a nice relaxing night out. I will definitely be back for more.

Ordered the chicken parm, it was by far the best I've had. Chicken was thick and juicy. Crust was perfectly seasoned. The garlic bread was beyond delicious. A major portion for two. Friends got pizza both were delicious. Service was great.

Chic, chill hangout, music was loud-had to almost yell to hear just across table and found ourselves repeating. Pizza was good; crisp-fired crust; as other customer reported we did come across a few "middles" that could have been cooked longer. Waitress was a bit curt at first likely due to her, and it looked only one other, working the whole place. Accordingly it took quite a while to get our meal. We appreciated her letting us know about by-the-slice >10p which was a good value and she got much nicer as things went along.

I wanted to give this place a try… was seated pretty quick. Waitress was nice but the pizza was not worth the price and value… please do not waste your time and tastebuds. Not worth it the pizza didn’t have hardly any sauce and no taste. I do have to give props to the music it was good.

I ordered the fried calamari and a large pepperoni. Both were good. The first opportunity was minutes after we received or calamari our pizza arrived. So now we have to rush to eat the appetizer while the pizza was getting cold. The second opportunity was no space on our table for the two, we literally were fishing for our crushed red pepper and Parmesan under the pizza holder to get it. So the pizza’s cool , no space on our table and it’s awkward to eat. The final opportunity is it was LOUD inside but that’s a good thing since it means people like it here. Parking is very scarce so plan on trying to find a place to park as well. For me this is one timer experience as I like space to eat my meal and timing on delivery of appetizers and the main course are critical. But most important for me is being able to converse comfortably with my guest is a must.

My husband and I visited Barbaro while passing through San Antonio. We ordered the Cesar Salad, Garlic Knots, and Large Pizza. I would recommend outdoor seating by a heat lamp, because the inside was very loud. If you don’t mind waiting awhile for food (when they’re busy), this is a very good place to eat. I think they were just understaffed, but did an amazing job with what they had.
