Fast service, affordable prices, family owned. Enjoy my pad thai.
I'm not quite sure of the variety of pricing options in the area, but this food for one person was a little high at close to $30 with tip. HOWEVER, I do not regret it AT ALL (plus I think I tipped closer to 20% because the soft-spoken young girl who served me was really sweet and relayed my orders perfectly in-between getting her napkin folding done). I came at 5pm (no lunch specials) and I came hungry with a couple substitutions that nickled and dimed my way over $20. That being said, I really *really* enjoyed my relaxing solo dinner here for the calm, decorated surrounding (inside that is), the unfussy service, the cook hand delivering her dishes in front of me, and the colorful, flavorful, fresh cuisine. Not sure about any other dishes, but here's what they made me that gave me a perfect Thai fix: - Jasmine Hot Tea pot - Fresh Rolls with chilled boiled shrimp instead of tofu (they actually used fresh mint as well as coriander) - Custom Stir-fried Rice Noodle dish: (a huge portion with leftovers) brown ginger/garlic sauce, mixed vegetables including bell peppers and snow peas, served piping hot with plump, succulent shrimp tail-on I enjoyed absolutely every bite and it really tasted generous and fresh like your Thai grandmother is home cooking for you. Even the dishware felt more sophisticated than more mediocre places that are very sloppy with their presentation or quality of ingredients. I'm not sure if a busier time would've affected the service, but going at 5pm, if you're a hungry early bird, was a very peaceful meal experience. I was so relaxed I wasn't even bothered by that looped instrumental replaying in the background every few minutes. ;-) The bathroom was also clean and well-stocked. I'd be interested in checking out their lunch specials for better prices, but who am I kidding, I'd probably order two just to try more of the chef's cooking!
Food was pretty good but not a very large portion. Great if you like a little spice in your life! Only thing that kept it from 5 stars was the customer service...waitress was rude and didn't check up on us once while we were there. Other then that food was great and was prepared very quickly.
Food was excellent. Satay chicken was amazing and the beef in the beef lo mein was butter soft. I do wish that when the dining room is 3/4 empty that they didn't seat the few people in there right on top of each other. But the dining room is lovely.
Food is pretty good, they used to serve soup before the meals, I guess they made some cutbacks? The #5 spice level should be spicier but I'll give 5 stars if they bring that soup back.
From the Coconut Fried Shrimp, Spring Rolls & Green Curry Shrimp to The Veggie Lo Mein. Everything was delicious. Especially the Pinot Grigio. Spectacular service. This is a great date night atmosphere. Enjoy.
It was my first time eating here, portions were good, prices were fair, a bit high for lunch specials. But, the main reason for my 3 star review was flavor. We started our meal with the pork shumai. They had a little bit of an off flavor, both myself and my friend noticed it. Then I had my drunken noodles with beef and my friend had beef pad thai. Again both of us noticed an off flavor. Both of us commented that as we ate, the flavor of whatever it disappeared, but I did taste something almost like liquid soap in a few of my bites. Its fair to mention we arrived right after opening. The portions were large, and I left completely full. The sauce for the shumai and for the pot stickers was great. The pot stickers had awesome flavor and were crispy. Service was good, food came out decently quick, and the restaurant inside is decorated nicely. As a first experience, I was disappointed. Had the odd flavor not been there, it would have been a 5 star review.
All time favorite Thai food in SA. No one else does Chicken with Ginger like them, and I have a hard time craving any other Thai establishment after eating here for years.
The restaurant servers the freshest vegetables with all the best homemade sauces, all their dishes are made to order. Their most excellent and friendly service and staff. Our food has always been served on our table hot and fresh, no matter what you order, or what time of day or evening. I always look forward to bringing the family and friends, their staff always treats you and welcomes you like family. If you enjoy food with a little hot zing in your meal, you won't be disappointed, with a great clean atmosphere as well. Don't miss visiting this place if you're visiting San Antonio
My favorite Thai! Love their coconut soup, fresh rolls, and drunken noodles. Everything we've had here is delicious!
