I planned a surprise marriage proposal at Marriage Island on the riverwalk, just outside of the Ambler's outdoor seating patio. We were seated outside and I was able to pull off the perfect proposal (in my opinion). When we came back to our table, the Ambler provided us a bottle of champagne on ice witch chilled champagne flutes. I didn't request this ahead of time. They were amazing!
Wait times were pretty long between time to order and when food was delivered. For the price of the food it was fairly underwhelming in flavor as well. We had the market salad and sea bass and both were very lacking.
There were three of us at the table and we all enjoyed our entree's for dinner. My daughter had the BLT Wedge salad and it was fresh and tasty. My wife had the 8oz Filet Mignon with the Asparagus side dish. She enjoyed both very much. I had the Picanha Brazilian style steak. It was 12oz and prepared correctly. I was a tiny bit disappointed because it did not have a strip of fat on one side like a traditional Picanha would have, but it was cooked to my liking and it was tasty. I am someone who prefers beef to be well marbled, even up to the Kobe/Wagyu levels of marbling. If you like very lean beef, then this steak will be very satisfactory for you. I also had the Goat Cheese Dauphinoise. It was very tasty but a tiny part of the potatoes did not seem to be fully cooked. I think it needed maybe another 3-5 minutes in the oven. The restaurant is on the River Walk, so you can sit outside and really enjoy the views this location has to offer.
Service was great. Our server, Sam, was super attentive and very pleasant. The food was alright. We started with an order of deviled eggs that were absolutely delicious. I ordered the Eggs Contessa, and while the ham and English muffin were lovely and crispy, the poached eggs were cooked hard, all the way through. Our extra side of fruit came dressed with some sort of sweet glaze that just seemed odd. Overall, it was fine. I would come here again, but would order something else.
Kelsey gave wonderful recommendations, including the guacamole, seabass, and cobbler. Fabulous evening!
Too hot in the room. Food was over cooked.
We enjoyed the crab guacamole appetizer, the sea bass was perfectly prepared, and the berry cobbler was quite possibly the best we've ever had. Service was prompt and helpful.
Excellent brunch. The banana bread is amazing, and I donât even like bananas:)
Wow this is a hidden gem for us. Found them on the Riverwalk during our walk one evening. Gorgeous view and excellent food! Also it is away from all the noise of the Riverwalk. We highly recommend them. Also they are very accommodating for any special foods you may or may not want to eat.
Wonderful wait staff and delicious food! Easy walk along the riverwalk
