Ok sooo terribly, my review is a whole year late!! But on the positive, every single one of my friends and family still talk about my coffee cake from my birthday last June! ? It was amazing honestly. I'm from England and had been looking for a Coffee Cake everywhere since I moved here. Finally my husband surprised me with a custom hand made one by Akki's and there has been no other cake for me since lol A British coffee cake is just that coffee/espresso and walnuts with coffee cream cheese icing obviously, not the American dry kind you have with coffee. I highly reccomended it and deeply thank you for making me such a lovely, amazing perfect cake! I wish I had more photos but it didn't last long! ?
My boyfriend‘s favorite cake is black forest cake. It is hard to find that cake here in town. I used to purchase this cake from Central Market but my boyfriend has been vegan for two years now. That cake is even harder to find in a vegan option. I was so glad when I was able to find Akki’s. The turnaround time was very quick and the cake presentation was beautiful. The cake was delicious, with all the plants based ingredients to accommodate the birthday boys diet. My boyfriend loved it and so did the non vegan eaters.

I ordered a vegan raspberry lemon cake for my wife's birthday and let me tell......my wife had nothing negative to say about the cake! The cake was moist and not dry like many vegan cakes are. The flavor was absolutely amazing! Will definitely be ordering from Akki's again.
I can’t be more pleased — or impressed — with Akki’s! From clear across the country, I ordered a special gluten-free birthday cake for my sister-in-law who lives in San Antonio. The customer service was exceptional, the delivery was flawless and — best of all — sister-in-law said it was DELICIOUS! Add to all of this the fact that they give much of their proceeds to childrens’ charities! More establishments should follow the lead of this (very) young entrepreneur. It’s a win-win for everyone!
We needed a bakery with more than a few choices for gluten free cupcakes and found this hidden gem in Akki's. The choices are great and the fact that they use mostly organic ingredients was a bonus. We chose the Heaven on a Plate cupcakes. The cake portion was moist and tasty and the frosting was light and a nice touch and the presentation was awesome. It should be noted that these are baked on demand so you need to order in advance. Care is taken on how they are packaged to make sure they are preserved during transportation. They tasted just as good as they looked. It was pleasant surprise to discover this is an in home business operated by an inspiring high school student and her family as her team and she donates a portion of the proceeds to charity. If you are looking for a gf, keto, vegan etc as well as regular recipe cakes and cupcakes, this is the perfect bakery. Our neighbors will be using this business and I am sure we will be ordering more than just cupcakes from here in the future.
Akki was so easy to work with delivering a beautiful delicious vegan cake on short notice. Highly recommend. I am very picky as to what I want and she listened to every detail and made it happen. And the fact that she donated her proceeds to charity is something she should be so proud of.
Akki is amazing!! I am in Seattle and she is in San Antonio and I needed to order a Keto Cake for my sisters birthday party. I called Akki, and when I hung up, I immediately got a text asking if I wanted to order. Akki and I texted back and forth and settled on a vanilla and strawberry Keto Cake. It was ready for pick up in 2 days!! While I was not at the birthday party, my sister said hands down its the best Cake she's ever had!! Everyone was amazed by this Cake!!! It's been the hit of the birthday weekend!!! Thank you Akki!! Please open a store in Seattle!!!!!! (And my sister says open one in Houston too!!)
The vanilla cake part was good..more like a banana flavored bread though. However, the icing wasn't good. Neither my husband, myself or my toddler liked it. It was a huge chunk of butter taste like raw batter, we had to scrape it off. Overall a little pricey for the end result taste.
