I ordered the grilled chicken salad. It was pretty expensive for just plain lettuce, cherry tomatoes and plain unseasoned chicken. But the okra was good, biscuits are way better then the cornbread, fried pickles were good and the fried mushrooms. Gravy needs a little work. I like how the kids meal is free if you order a adult entree. The alligator was great too. Those stuffed potatoes are really good. The place is nice and the atmosphere of the live music and feeling like you're eating in your grandma's living room is nice too. Would recommend but expect to drop some money.
This is some of the best homestyle food in San Antonio. This is Cajun food with some down home cooking but with a spice level for most people's palate. Been in business for 30+years! Order takeout or dine in and enjoy something special and unique. The staff was friendly, restaurant was clean and prices were not too bad. Fruit punch for kids/adults is a must! Catfish is topnotch! Many items to choose from but recommend a sample platter if you can't decide.
This is probably the best canjun restaurant I've been to in a while. The food was very tasty and brought to me fresh and hot. I had the canjun sampler that comes with gumbo, crawfish etoufette, jambalaya, and red beans with rice. I also had the bread pudding for dessert. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and gave great suggestions for our table. I have to suggest the lemonade. You can taste the fresh squeezed lemons. Can't wait to come back and enjoy this place again
Authentic Cajun Fare! I have a lot of cajun friends & have had many home cooked Cajun meals and Acadian Cafe is as homemade as my cajun friends prepare! The coating for the fried catfish & shrimp is so light, crispy & coating adheres to the fish! The home cooked sided are yummy good for the soul southern style! Very personable & attentive staff! I give 10 stars to Acadian Cafe!
Always great food, never over priced like a lot of seafood places
Great food, clean restaurant awesome customer service.
Chicken dumplings were delish! Cornbread was yummy and friendly service!
Acadiana is always a crowd pleaser. Whether we are dining with our small family or our larger extended family, it is always a hit. There is an ample waiting area and plenty of seating. If you choose to do take-out, their drive up service is quick and efficient.Acadiana now has a full bar but their star is still their food. There are plenty of shareable appetizers such as Cajun nachos and alligator nuggets. They offer fried and grilled versions of several fish dishes, as well as vegetarian options. Their catfish is absolutely delicious but they also have great Cajun dishes such as red beans and rice, étouffee, gumbo and andouille sausage.Their cornbread is the best in town (in my opinion) and their hush puppies are nothing to shake a stick at.Second only to the great food is the amazing service. We have NEVER had bad service, regardless of the day of the week, time of the day or the size of our party. The wait staff is always pleasant and helpful.Pre-COVID they served boudain and baked potatoes but those are no longer on the menu. Even with that, we still think they are an amazing restaurant and highly recommend - five stars!!
It was wonderful especially since it was cold outside and they have 2 fireplaces going and we were seated by one of them. The food was wonderful and our waitress Liz was amazing. It had the feel of when I lived in TN. but the food was like home for me which is Fl. coast.
I’m gonna be honest. It was disappointing. Being a Cajun establishment flavor was lacking. Most of our meals were unseasoned. The catfish and red beans with rice was delicious but everything else not so much. Willing to give it another shot during dinner hours. It could’ve been better.
