Had Lunch at Slim Chickens, Not a good experience.. I have eaten at other Slim Chickens and it was very good... But not this one.. Not only was my order wrong but the 3 orders ahead of me wasn't correct.. When I pointed out I had the wrong order the counter person passing out the orders attempted to get it correct.. But missed the details of the order.. I asked for my wings extra crispy and she told me cook would make them extra crispy as I watch them take my wings from batch that just came up...Yeahhh not crispy like I order.. So rather then having the cook get my wings off the floor to complete my order I took them not to cause a problem but trust me I will not eat here anymore.. CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE YOU WALK AWAY!!!
Nice place to grab a bite while you're shopping. Sure miss Antony's Pizza not being part of the food court.
Modern, slick design of the new PX building. Limited parking lot near the commissary; however, on the northern side of the PX building there is additional parking space.
The worst experience ever...my 16 year old daughter worked for a brief time at the new food court. She is a good employee. Starbucks manager (Mirna) speaks to her employees in a condescending manner and when confronted she takes no responsibility for her actions. She gets away with it because it is allowed. The culture is toxic and they can't seem to keep their employees for very long because of their horrible management skills. Most employees that stay are stuck because they have no other place to go and if they speak up for themselves they are ostracized and targeted. Apparently, it's okay for the management team to speak condescendingly to their employees and to belittle them. The food court manager (Marjorie) seems to encourage this type of behavior. My husband and I had a horrible encounter with her this weekend. We went in to speak up on behalf of our daughter and was met with denials and excuses. Marjorie (after hearing only her manager's side of the story) thought it was a good idea to speak with us on behalf of her manager who had denied her condescending attitude and words towards a 16 year old. She proceeded to interrogate us in front of employees and customers instead of speaking in private. When my husband realized that the conversation was going nowhere fast and was turning into a "he said, she said" situation he told Marjorie, in a direct but firm manner that he was going to "make it simple". As he said in an earlier conversation with Mirna, if something else were to happen we'd be pulling our daughter from AAFES. After my husband stated he would make it simple Marjorie then began to mock him condescendingly, repeatedly saying his words back to him. When I asked her why she was mocking him she said it was “ because he was gonna make it simple “. Which, he did. We told our daughter to secure her belongings and that we would be going home. Marjorie then stormed off muttering to herself. AAFES, you need to do better. You’re losing employees left and right to the point where the food court has had to close early because you can’t keep the concepts properly staffed. This is not the first time management (especially Marjorie) has been allowed to behave in this manner. At some point you’re going to have to take a long hard look at the JBSA-Sam Houston Main Exchange’s management team and admit you have a problem. Employees leave their employers…not their jobs.UPDATE: After my husband posted this review to the Joint Base San Antonio Facebook page the General Manager reached out to us. He is aware of the situation and stated that he saw a "good opportunity for training"...we shall see.
Super busy, over worked employees need more help to assist all the people.
This place has multiple places to eat. I choose the Gyro place. I got the Gyro plate with Feta and it did not disappoint. Lots of food for the money and it was very good. I can highly recommend this place if you like Gyros. Big things up.
The pizza tastes great. The other food tastes the same as any other place. I only other order 2 large pizzas to go for the family.
It was pretty small and old. Had only a few restaurants. Charlie's was great but they had Anthony pizza and 2 other unknowns places. This food court isn't like other installations and it lacking in funding from what it looks like. The parking lot is also very crowded and the construction plays a factor.
A lovely place to eat with the soldiers bustling through. Food is good, but not enough choices.
Do have the Gyro and the burger as well....great spots here.
