Reservation 4-19-22 at new location. Previously went to downtown a year earlier it was a great experience. I reserved a table for our anniversary again at new location, this should been a red flag as phone was answered and greeted but was put on hold I could hear manager walking around I had hang up and call later, I did and got a table for 8:30pm they said no reservation was needed. Upon arriving to new location the frontrestaurant was super busy,We introduced ourselves to hostess and she said we needed a reservation, we mentioned we were told different she then sat us at a table place was empty we figured better service. Sat waited for over 20min for a menu and another 20 min before bringing water or asking if we wanted a beverage. charcuterie board order was taken when she asked for drinks it took 45-60 before we saw the appetizer at our table no visit to check our table before appetizer by Hostess/waitress was made for refills or offer or ask if we wanted drinks or even to check up her focus was up front. We did many times have people ask us were the restroom was located as they walked to the stock room on left back & door was open the patrons B-lined their thinking it was a restroom. Sadly to say the romantic ambiance not happening and lack of proper signing was not up if they did have it would point them to right as soon as they entered room , (I suggested this signing arrow for direction) Finally the Charcuterie board arrived delicious as we choose not to have lunch and save our appetite we enjoyed it, the same Waitress came and picked up board and her comment was "You two Inhaled it" , we did not get this until approximately 10pm this was upsetting comment lack of Training , professionalism , and certainly not someone I would put to represent my restaurant, the key word is training. Then order is taken for the meal (9:50pm we get our meal at about 10:15pm. I ordered the New York Strip the plate this was overly salted, best comparison like salt water or salt lick, along with everything the sides were cold and seasoned with more salt .. you see that the plating of meal was poor, , it lacked what we had original Gwendolyn "Love" in the meal..It surprises me how a Chef can allow this to leave the kitchen , It was sent back, yes it was upsetting to me but by all means was I was not disrespectful to waitress or manager ..Keep in mind we are going on 2 hours for a meal to come out "Truly the issue is that everyone is focused on the Ramon noodles up front and bar" and the main dining is on the back burner along with service..keep in mind a few more patrons interrupted us to ask for the location of the restroom. My wife was trying to make the best out of this she even ate her food that was warm she felt badly that she choose this restaurant we had great experience the year earlier on our anniversary. Lets move on to Syphon Coffee order taken at 10:30 apprx along with her desert, coffee was served at 10:45 and desert was brought out at 11pm / coffee and desert should be together, at 10:50 a strong scent of Cigarette smoke enters our dining area they had side door open I checked no one was smoking outside I closed the door I addressed this also it was almost closing time so I think some lit a cigarette thinking it would go unnoticed it didn't and made this ambiance or experience worst. Also,Keep in mind with the appetizer we asked waitress if they had a port she said no they don't serve that, its on the menu, she kept pushing the bar upstairs and how great it was,, (lack of training) eventually manager came out as I requested to speak to her, I did say wanted to speak to the chef .I called and left a message and he did call me back.Chef Sohocki, was apologetic about the experience, I asked him to have us back when kitchen was up to Par Have not heard back 2months later/He said he would do that keep in mind he offered to make dinner in my home that was kind, but what I wanted was the dinner that I got year earlier great service, food. I wasn't expecting a free meal and w
This place has a beautiful concept of sharing, as two diverse cuisines are cooked under one kitchen. Their sharing concept is implemented on their shareable plates and invites for a great atmosphere. The music is usually upbeat and casual so it's a greats place to have drinks, share a plate of fresh charred edamame or enjoy a steaming bowl of? ramen. You can also sit in the other side of the establishment which is dedicated to the upscale hearty Europe cuisine with sexy delicate chocolate desserts, charr-marked pound cake, and lush wines.
It was closed and out of business. Shocked to have Opentable allow a reservation

Everything was amazing. Wish the dishes were explained a bit more by our server. Food wise, best meal I’ve ever had.
So service was great, wine was great, food was very average. Just didn't do it for me. Wasn't bad but when you spend 200.00+ for two you want it fantastic. Pumpkin soup was very good but about 1/4 inch in bowl, enough for just a taste. Bread and butter was top of the line. Broccoli salad had a lot of bad looking broccoli in it. Main course was mushy beef with under cooked potatoes. Wouldn't go back, wouldn't recommend.
Magnificent restaurant! I am thrilled to see what they can accomplish in their new space!
This is my second time going to a restaurant with a tasting menu. My first, Restaurant Eugene in Atlanta and the bar was set pretty high. Restaurant Gwendolyn is a very small and intimate restaurant. I believe there were only 7 tables. I did not like the fact that our table was so close to another table. I was also not very impressed with the seating accommodations. The chairs were small and wooden and the tables were small as well. There was not enough room on our table for our bottle of wine, appetizers, silverware, bread, etc. Speaking of bread, it was amazing! I was pleased to learn it was Gwendolyn’s recipe that was still being used. I also loved that everything in the restaurant was locally sourced. Overall, the food was delicious! Our party had an amazing time and I would definitely go again.
