My wife and I had a wonderful date night at UNA at the Silo House yesterday. We started off with the Elote Ribs and Seared Ahi Tuna; both of which were very tasty. For the Main Course we decided to split the Yard Bird and add Brussel Sprouts and Pomme Frites for sides. We enjoyed the Artisanship of the beautifully staged plates and the amazing flavor of each plate. This is a unique dining experience in San Angelo and I would highly recommend UNA for your next date night or dinner out with friends. If you enjoy a glass of wine with your meals be sure to bring your own bottle as they are working on getting their license.
wonderful place to visit off of the beaten path, unique and totally different. great service and wonderful atmosphere
So last night, fiance' and I made a venture into the old Silo House Restaurant in San Angelo now titled UNA at the Silo where Chef Guttierez and wife Brittni are putting out phenomenal plates of food that rock the palate. For now, it's BYOB until their TBAC is approved. The menu is anything but normal. Everything is done to perfection, crafted for flavor and quality as well as gorgeous presentation. The prices are more than reasonable for the quality and the portion. The venu retains all it's quaint, quiet, charm making it the definition of a prime date night spot. In fact, we both agree this is one of our top 3 date night spots from now on. Desserts change weekly, the menu changes seasonally. Chef, partner-owner Eric, and wife-server Brittni are a team off to a dang good start with this culinary revitalization of the Silo House.
Overall a pretty mediocre experience. The service was very poor, the waitress had to come back 3-4 times to ask what we ordered again and still ended up putting it in wrong. The food pacing was off as we received our sides 15 minutes before our entrees with no plates or ways to share them. When half of our entrees came out the food temperature was inconsistent; one was extremely hot while the other two were room temperature at best. Our final entree which was just seared tuna came out last and probably 10-15 minutes after the others. Some highlights were the roasted root vegetables and the short ribs. The low points were a bland tasteless risotto, a very unusual (not in a good way) atmosphere, and unskilled wait staff. Certainly not the fine dining experience they claim. Overall not a great experience for $200 I don't think we would come back or recommend this place to anyone else.
Best food in San Angelo Tx..Customer service is superb... If you blink, you will missed the place.. It's locate near residential area and the front is art center...
We were looking for a place to have dinner while passing through San Angelo and we found this gem.We read the menu on line and I couldn't believe it! Called for a reservation and the host said we wouldn't be disappointed. That was the understatement of a lifetime! The place is really cool. The furnishings, lighting, art works, music - everything works together. The people are great. It's more than just "friendly," they care about you and make you feel like a welcome guest. The food. I really appreciate good food, and this was some of the best I've ever had.We were so lucky to have had this amazing experience! Thank you Silo House!
This was the best place ever!!! Excellent food !! Excellent service!! Excellent price!! We will come again!!!
very good food and service was outstanding
Dinner tonight was amazing! The duck and chicken entrees with Brussels sprouts and potatoes were out of this world.. not to mention the delicious guacamole wonton appetizers.. we will be back!!
4/5 because I enjoyed it but my husband didn't care for it. He had the duck with orange reduction and I had the salmon. I thought both dishes tasted delicious. The portion size of the salmon was good, but the duck itself wasn't very filling. We split a side of russet potatoes in cream and that was the best part of the meal. For dessert we had their bomb tasting cheese cake which we both enjoyed. So good! The atmosphere feels slightly quirky (which I view as a good thing) but the food is refined. Total cost for dinner was around $85.
