the food is great but service is in the toilet. waited for an hour in line and it seems only 3 employees are really busy. one in the back on the phone and two out front building burgers taking orders and doing prep. .7 employees on site. complained about wait and Wes told its always like this. not. it was one of my favorite spots. maybe find another spot that can get your order in less than an hour.
We really wanted to like this place but that didn't happen. The meat didn't even cover the bun for starters. I even other hamburgers go out so much bigger!! My husband tried to buy a milkshake but was told it would be an hour wait. Since we weren't sure how long we would be there he decided to wait. About 45 minutes went by we noticed two shakes go out so I jumped in line to order one. Sadly I was told it would be a 30 minute wait because "a bunch of shakes had just been ordered." We saw only three go out afterwards. We never saw anyone clean tables plus our table was dirty to start. I think there roughly 15 people ahead of us and it took 45 minutes to place our order. The young lady that took our order we could barely hear her. Poor management that's for sure!! Sadly we won't go back!! For the price you pay it's not worth it!!!
We come here every time we come to SA. Always enjoyed it until now. Has gone downhill. No pickles out, shake machine broken and half the drinks on the soda machine were out. Really sad to see it like this.
The entire staff was super friendly and the atmosphere is awesome! We got fried pickles as an appetizer but didn’t get them until we got our meal but that was ok. I got the chili burger and hubby got the bacon burger. Both were delicious!
It was a great experience grabbing lunch here! I got a cheeseburger and added homemade chips and ranch to it (very yummy). I sat on the patio since it was so nice. Next time I definitely want to try the cheese fries and a shake.
Pretty good burgers and food overall. Wait time for 4 small shakes and 1 regular shake was about 40 minutes. Family members got their regular food, and finished it before I got my shake. Management stated ice cream machine shuts down every few shakes and has to cool down and reboot.With that, they also don’t make peanut butter banana sandwiches anymore. No idea why. Still on the menu but they don’t make it.All in all not a bad place. It’s worth coming and checking out. I would just not order any ice cream here.

Friends visiting San Angelo who were part of the ASU Writer's Conference wanted someplace to go that was a little different where we could sit outside and visit. Someone reminded me of Twisted Root, and I am so happy that I followed that suggestion. My friends, who were visiting, greatly enjoyed the experience, and so did I. The manager was very friendly and paid special attention to my guests which made the nicest impression. It also helped that the weather was perfect for sitting outside, and of course, the milkshakes were decadently delicious. I didn't get the manager's name but want her to know that because of her care, my friends will remember their afternoon in San Angelo with great fondness, as will I. Thank you!
I ordered the Elvis something shake. They had one description on the menu but served something different. When asked, they said they didn't do it that way anymore. The cashier didn't even tell me when I ordered. She could have. I was disappointed. I didn't order a burger because the menu said it came with a sandwich. I waited 45min to find out I wasn't getting anything to eat. I feel like this place is overpriced and always had been, not a COVID thing. This was only my third time coming since it's been in San Angelo. I never choose this place. I only come when a group of friends want to. I understand COVID had screwed up customer service but it could be better.
We loved the burgers, and the shakes were good. The variety on the menu included something veggies for our healthy crowd too. We weren't in a hurry so the long wait for the food wasn't a problem, but it might be for others.
