Best BBQ I’ve had in San Angelo. We’ve had the brisket, both sausages, and the pitato. All delicious.
We had 20lbs of brisket and 10lbs of chicken delivered for a post funeral lunch. The food was absolutely delicious. Attendents who came from all over the US were raving about the brisket - the best they have ever had.
This place has some pretty good pulled pork, got a pile, made me smile, crusty & tender, took it home, made some tacos with all the fix'ins, and now I am wallowing in the satified dinner splender!
The brisket was a HIT with my family. My brother said it was the best bbq brisket he ever had, it is seasoned with thick salt and pepper. It was a little too salty for me but aside from that the smokey flavor was so good!!
Called in a delivery from out of town for family, and the staff was so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Family said the food was delicious as well!

Highly recommend trying the “Jail Break” sandwich. I didn’t even want to try it at first because it’s such a weird combination of peanut butter & jelly on a toasted bun with brisket but when I finally did I was hooked! I have to stop by and get one every time I am in San Angelo now.
I have given a rare five stars to The Pit even though I am considering a law suit against them. It’s a crime how freaking GOOD their Jail Break sandwich is and how they have caused me to be addicted to it! I now crave that sandwich weekly (well, truth be told, I crave it daily but only allow myself one a week). Seriously though, the sandwich is one of those things where you think, ‘no way.’ But it works! For those of you who don’t know, the Jail Break is a brisket, peanut butter, and jelly sandwich. First off, the brisket is perfect; tender, juicy, flavored just right, and has a crisp bark. Then the peanut butter melts onto the hot brisket. And finally, the jelly gives a sweet counter flavor to the brisket’s smokey/salty flavor. In short, it has become my favorite sandwich ever! As a side note, I have always been greeted warmly when I walk up to the trailer and the staff is friendly and patient with newbies (believe me…I had some questions the first I considered trying the Jail Break). They are renovating the building next to the trailer so they can open a full time restaurant. I will guarantee that I will be among the first people through their doors when it opens.
I'd post a picture, but I ate it lol. Best bbq in town!!!
Brisket was too salty also they forgot to give us bread.
