Lunch in an old house of ill repute. It really was a few things that have changed. The cat house doesn't operate as such. It's good food and nostalgia without being too kitschy lo. Chicken Fried Steak was excellent - the Meatloaf was more of a chopped steak covered in tomato sauce. Portions were good not getting overstuffed, Had Miss Hattie's tea think Long Island Tea has definite alcohol in the brew not to be confused with the standard Sweet Tea. A definite break from a time it was a dry town that is you had to join private clubs to be served alcohol. The lunch menu has good choices and slightly lighter fare than the dinner menu,
Loved the visit! Great historical tour! The tour guide was so sweet and answered all our questions. It’s a must see when you visit San Angelo!
We love dining in historic venues, so Miss Hattie's was naturally on our list. The atmosphere was ideal with brick walls and tin ceiling; service was friendly, polite, and well-timed; lunch portions were just right and priced accordingly. We had turkey on croissants with bacon, cheese, avocado, and mayo; while the croissants were a little oversized, the taste of the overall sandwich was excellent. Chips were homemade and very good. Be sure to ask your server about this location's past and consider taking a tour of the bordello. Hattie's is in a cute section of downtown, so you can "walk off" any calories by perusing the general store, book store, and other shops. Parking is nearby.
I was there by myself on a weekday during April. My lunch (crab cake/avocado sandwich and fries) was fabulous but , strange as this sounds, the plate could've been bigger. The sandwich and fries seemed crammed in the plate. The atmosphere was phenomenal, the server was well versed in the facility's history and the food was reasonably priced
Really sorry of an old time motor coach resort. Great feel to it. Loved the ducks. Well maintained but really aged.
My husband love his catfish, I had the chicken alfredo have to be honest not the best I've ever had but the atmosphere was fun and the fried zucchini at the beginning was amazing.
This was my first time at Miss Hattie's and I was blown away. The food was absolutely incredible. The price was a little steep, but we'll worth it. We had a large party of 18, which they handled wonderfully. All of our food came out together with no issues. Definitely recommend
Very interesting decor. Great atmosphere here and the bacon wraps were very good. Must have to try them. Had the Miss Hattie’s Patty very good on the marble rye. Need to try so much more things the next time I come to visit
Great food with a old fashioned look decor. I had the chicken fried oysters and 21 day aged ribeye with lobster tail and scallop potatoes
Our group went for a late lunch on a Thursday. The restaurant had plenty of seating that was well spaced out. Our server wore a mask and was very attentive and friendly. We all had salads - cranberry crab cake, grilled chicken spinach and frito salad. All were excellent with fresh and delicious ingredients. We will definitely be back on our next trip to San Angelo!
