It was GREAT having breakfast with my brother and my sister-in-law this morning at Franco's!The chips were AMAZING -- they went perfectly with the house salsa. This "Loco" had the Loco Plate, which was fantastic!Prices were good, and the service was EXCELLENT!Thanks, y'all!
Franco’s has been our favorite for twenty years because of the great food and service. However, our last visit will be our last. We waited almost an hour for our food then walked out after the waitress asked what we had ordered. Not only has the ownership changed, but so has the menu, prices, and service. Goodbye Franco’s.
Service has changed and it leaves much to be desired! Prices increased and portions decreased but most of all the new owners are awful. I asked our waiter Monday at lunch where the manager that used to be there all the time was and he said she had been fired for no reason and that all the employees missed her and that the new owners were difficult to deal with and work with and man can you tell! We will not be returning, we were rushed the entire time, had not even finished our meals and the man walking around with a cap on kept trying to pick up our plates. I was so disgusted with all the service we finally left and we will go down the street to Jalepenos Loco from now on that has excellent service and pretty much the same menu.
Lovely owner (I think she was the owner?!). Very attentive wait staff. This food was simple, fresh, great - and came out fast. Our waitress was lovely and kept checking whether we needed anything replenished. If you live in, or are on your way through San Antonio - what not stop on by? Nice, chilled restaurant that feels like home.
Used to be an awesome place to go until about 6 weeks ago. Totally changed now! We went in over the weekend and we asked the waitress ( Alicia) what had happened and she informed us that the manager had been fired and new ones brought in. We will never go back in the entire place was unfriendly and disorganized. Our waitress, Alicia is the one that should have been fired. If someone is going to be that short tempered and rude working on a Sunday morning they simply shouldn't go to work! We will not go back.
If you are looking for the original recipes from Franco's then go down the street to Jalepenos Locos. Franco's is not about family or loyalty, they are only worried about sales.
I figured a Mexican Food restaurant in San Angelo that was in the "Top Ten" overall would be a can't miss. I figured wrong. I live in the Houston area and have never eaten at a Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurant that was so underwhelming. Our server was very friendly, and it was fun to see the easy-neighborhood ambience, but the food was largely devoid of taste or spice.
Awful place do not Waste your time
We have eaten at Francos for years and until this past month when we went in it had always been good but new owners are killing it! increased prices, decreased portions and owners are rude. Totally rushing you the entire time you are there and trying to rush you so that they can seat the next group. The owner ( a tall white man) picked up my plate when I was not finished eating. we will no longer be visiting this location!
Food is always usually up to par. They're usually pretty good about getting you in and out quickly and service is pretty friendly. The food isn't bad for a hole in the wall diner. Good job guys
