Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday while visiting Round Rock. We had a party of 6, so had to wait about 15 minutes for a larger table. There's a nice sitting area right outside to kill the time. Upon sitting, waitress immediately came over to take the drink orders and answer any questions.Started off with the large Seafood Fondue and a few drinks. The drinks were ok, but the Fondue was amazing. I expected basic melted cheese with a few seafood pieces, but I was pleasantly wrong. It was very flavorful with a nice mix of spinach, mushrooms, various cheeses, with large chunks of shrimp and crawfish. It went perfectly with the bread. For the meals, there were so many tough choices so we asked the waitress for some recommendations. She said everything was good, but the favorite is the Stuffed Flounder, so ordered that smothered with the fondue sauce and a side of red beans and rice. This was a great recommendation as it was a large piece of flounder that was generously stuffed with crab and smothered with the same fondue sauce we had for an appetizer. Everyone else enjoyed their meals and all looked delicious.I'll definitely come back to try some more menu items, even though it will be tempting to get the Stuffed Flounder. Great food and service.
Our first time dining at Louisiana Longhorn Cafe was a good one! The waitress was nice and service was fast. Our adult beverages was mixed very well. The food, amazing, especially the gumbo! There’s other meals we want to try so we’ll be returning soon.
Wow, just wow! Shrimp creole with just the right amount of zing and sweet, very tasty jambalaya and gumbo. Agree with other reviews that etouffee is just ok, but there is so much more on the menu you won't miss it if you give it a skip. Got food to go and have zero regrets, although we won't do that very often - very filling! Fried oysters were great - they used large oysters, as it should be. Hushpuppies are done just right. Have been going to Louisiana Longhorn off and on for years, and will continue.
GREAT fried shrimp. Ettouffe, only okay. Fried okra, perfect. Fish tacos very good. But, good lord, get the bread pudding with bourbon sauce!!!
Oh yeah, this place rocks. Old school vibe, really good service. Tried the shrimp basket, deliciously fried, with cole slaw and French fries as sides. Also tried the alligator bites, not disappointed at all. Gotta love the dipping sauces, especially the spicier ones. The Thirsty Goat IPA is a nice option for those craving for a good, tasty beer. Great experience, will definitely be back to explore a bit better the menu (there’s a lot of stuff to try, honestly)
The gumbo was amazing! The flavor of the crawfish was really good we got spicy, although they were a little over cooked they were still good:) I will definitely be back! I loved that it was quiet and calm and I could enjoy me food in peace and quiet!
First let me say that our server was great. We have been going to this restaurant for over 17 years and have loved it. We go for anniversaries and birthdays. However this is the first time we have been since the new owners and it will be the last. We ordered our usual dish and my dish was horrible. They burned the okra and my fish. It was cold and totally wrong. It was supposed to be creamy and light but it looked like they used country gravy and put spinach in it. And to make matters worse for the first time in 17 years they were out of chocolate pie at 5:00 pm and they even managed to mess up the corn muffins and the french bread. My husband is from New Orleans so he knows what the food is supposed to taste like and that was not it, it had been correct until the new owners took over. My husband said the gumbo was still the same.I have see two photos, one with red beans and rice is how the dish is supposed to look. The second is what I was served, very different and horrid.
We went today for our anniversary. It was SO GOOD. The fried oysters were big and juicy, and the snapper with ponchatrain sauce...YUM!! Really fun time with our server, Chris. Such a nice young man, pleasant and easy to converse with. Best thing of all? The key lime pie. Made in house...THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD. Who knew the pie was so amazing there?!?!Haven't been there in years, but we'll be back.
I recommend this restaurant. The fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. All our dishes were delicious. It is a bar atmosphere. It was relaxing and not too loud. Louisiana decor. Very clean. The staff were friendly. The service good. The price was expensive.
I have been going here for years. Yesterday I needed my crawfish fix. I was sadly disappointed. The crawfish use to have so much flavor, now is bland and not spicy at all. Even after I request extra extra spicy the crawfish was still bland. The drinks were always on point. The best hurricanes in Georgetown. Now taste like Hawaiian Punch. I am very disappointed, I had to leave and go to Hook N Reel to satisfy my appetite. I will give them another chance.
