If you go to the kalahari resort this place is a diamond in the ruft all you need is the whole chicken with the onions and lemon, instead of gambling on other restaurant in the area. This food was top of the line. My 4 children and wife did not complain at all about the food. I didn't like the sides but chicken was unbelievably good. Thanks Rico Polo....
So I love this place. I come here at least once a month. I get the 2 piece chicken with rice no beans. The chicken is seasoned really well. The rice is good also. I have eaten here over 10 times since moving here. They do simple right. The place is not premier dining but if you want a good lunch and affordable($8) check it out. I love the atmosphere of the place and it has a real blue-collar feel to it. Which I love and the patrons are all pretty chill.
Great pricing and delicious food! Whenever it's not a cheat day and I just need some grilled chicken in my life. Ordering the half chicken or bowl is the way to go!
I ordered Carne Asada to be delivered. The beef was very very dry, threw out all but 3. pieces. Refried beans were good. No cheese, or sour cream. 1 chunk of a small onion, barely cooked. I wasted $23. 1st time ordering and wont do it again.
Great chicken - I mean, really good chicken. I’ve been eating their chicken since before they had this big brick location and can say that they have stayed consistent throughout the years. The only thing that still needs work is their customer service and their beans.
I recently decided to set out to find good Mexican food and good burritos. Taco bell is gross and chipotle gets boring. So far I've come to the conclusion that food trucks are the best places to get authentic Mexican food. But after discovering El Pollo Rico, I can say this is hands down the best chain restaurant with authentic Mexican food. Calling them a chain restaurant may be a reach as they only have a handful of locations, but the point stands. They have a amazing food and friendly staff. Their chicken is amazing and the burritos are spot on. Definitely give any of their locations a try
Almost $4 Supposedly beef taco! I can't make this up literally 3 bits of meat! They should change the menu option to veggies taco.... smh bad thing is I ordered 3 of these.
Disgusting place!! Came to eat and roaches on the table, place doesn't look clean at all and floors are just dirty please stay away from this place! Never again!!
I still prefer their North Austin locations.
I do not know the secret but every single time I order their whole chicken it's tastes delicious and it's never off beat! I've been to other restaurants were it's a hit or miss but El Pollo Rico is always on spot! So glad they opened one in RR.
