Who knew that a Texas Restaurant serves nachos without peppers. They do have some nice big chunks of raw onions. Weird. Their chips are very thick and tough and have a hint of something I I believe to be old grease and not any kind of seasoning. The are mostly hard clumps not suited for dipping. The place is cute. I was seated quickly and my nachos, which were my meal, came in under half an hour.
This place is awesome! I went with family for the first time tonight, and the food and service were both amazing. Every detail is perfect, from the decor to the music and atmosphere. We had the chile relleno, tamales (best anywhere!), steak fajita salad, and amazing flan and sopapillas with ice cream. The owner stopped to chat and we shared what a wonderful experience it had been. Can’t wait to come back!
Okay,So the bartender makes bomb drinks! The owner is amazing! And the tamales are ?!Like why is this not the hottest place in town? If you are going anywhere else you are missing out! The owner is so down to earth and nice. Seriously this is the best place I have been in a while. I’ll be a regular for sure!
Great food and staff!
First time here and I wouldn’t go back.. The chips were so hard it made my teeth hurt, the salsa tasted like canned salsa. They charged me $2 for green sauce that tasted exactly like the Hernandez Roasted Poblano Salsa Cremosa they sell at Walmart (not in a good way). The frozen margaritas tasted like ice blended with sugar and a dash of concentrated lime juice. The rice was bland and had no flavor. The steak was soft (I’ll give them that) but no seasoning, I had to pour a bunch of salt and pepper to give it any type of flavor.. We ordered Tacos Al Carbon with fajita steak/chicken but the tacos had no grilled onions or pepper as all other Tex-Mex restaurants serve them. It came with 3 tacos but barely any meat on them, I had to combine 2 of the tacos together so I can taste more than just the tortilla..
Shrimp cocktail was delicious and so was queso.Service was just okay. Waiter delivered food at different times when it was ready with long waits between deliveries to the tableWe had to ask for utensils and napkins.
Not good food at all, bland. Didn't bring extra chips to table, when we saw them give it to several other tables, wasn't to busy for them to do that. Service had no personality at all, or service really at all, sorry! I know times are tough but this place doesn't cut it! Went b4 Xmas & it was better then, thought we'd give it another try since it said it was under new ownership, or so I've heard it was, no thx. A lot would have to change notably before I would ever try it again. We won't be back sadly.
This was the bombest Shrimp salad ever... I didn't think I was going to finish it. It says it an apitizer, but I ate it as a meal. I ate it with the warm chips they brought out. They celery tasted so fresh. Kudos to Trevino's. They did this dish really good ??. I plan on coming back
Trevino's is located in the beautiful San Jacinto Plaza on the corner of N Goliad. Unfortunately, it falls flat in comparison to the other restaurants in the immediate area.I dropped in for lunch on a Wednesday and was sorely disappointed ?The chips and salsa left much to be desired, very bland compared to other Tex Mex in the nearby City of Rockwall. This is usually an immediate red flag for me, but I was willing to give it a chance. The lunch menu was small, and I settled on a classic choice of " fajitas".Normally fajitas are choice of meat ?, rice &beans, and a few flour or corn tortillas. However, Trevino's decided that fajitas should include tons of "peppers and onions", french fries, and no tortillas. ☹️The fajita meat was alright in all fairness, but the portion was on the smaller side and I was unable to actually enjoy it due to the lack of tortillas. French fries were fresh and crisp but again, not really what I expected nor wanted. It's my fault for assuming the fajitas would infact be fajitas, and if I had suspected that I would need to Google translate the menu to get an English description of the food, then I would have and this entire disaster could have been avoided. In the end, after eating the fajita meat, rice, and beans. (And a few french fries). I simply paid and left.( After 45 mins I realized I was still hungry, and needed to order something else to bridge the gap between lunch and dinner)The service was pretty good. I have no complaints on that. And the unsweetened tea was a bit bland compared to other places, but it was ice cold and wet ?.I simply won't be back.
This place is under new management and clearly care. One of the owners was behind the bar and even talked about how they brought stuff over from their other restaurant to make sure people were well cared for. We were. There was nothing we asked for that we didn't get immediately. And the food was tasty. Try it out
