Ordered the usually awesome chopped bbq sandwiches today but I did not get anywhere near the quality of sandwich I've received in the past. The hoagie bun was not toasted. The size was 1/3 of what they've offered in the past. But what was most disappointing was the minimal amount of meat used on each sandwich. I was shocked as this has never been my experience with his location in the past. I was taking lunch to my mother-in-law who has been in the hospital for several days because she had requested bbq sandwich. I was hoping to make her day, but that didn't happen.
The sides are nasty the pecan pie was like egg custard the brisket was goodI will never eat here again it was a waste of money and very disappointing.Sides I hadCream corn it was luke warm and to tasteCabbage was so soPotato salad was disgustingPecan pie was not made right at all no flavor and Had consistency of a egg custard pie$43 down the trash
We used to love Soulman's BBQ. They used to run a great business. Not anymore. The kids he hires are all terrible. They have long nails, but they touch your food, which is a health code violation. The kids he hires are always rude, too. Cheap labor I suppose. They barely give you any of the sides now. They have little containers and fill them half to 2/3 of the way. The chicken is always dried out. They are cheap with their meat despite their claims. The chopped beef is always loaded with fat and they say "we want to make sure it is moist" when you ask them not to give you all that fat. The sausage is usually overcooked and somewhat tough. The floors are always either really sticky or ridiculously slick. Somebody is going to fall and sue their pants off. We paid $43 to 2 small drinks and 2 two-meat plates. RIP OFF. Go to Sideways. it is expensive, but the quality and quantity is there.
I was on a business trip and wanted BBQ. Decided to try this place as it was close to the hotel. It's was Ok. Not bad. Not great. Nothing stood out as great. Nothing stood out as horrible.Likely would not go back.
We had a pound of brisket and half a rack of ribs with mac&cheese and spicy hot potatoes, which, wasn't very hot. Everything was delicious! All that and a gallon of lemonade fed me and my two cubs. Good stuff fellas!
Good food, had the place to ourselves 9n a Friday night. Good. Lol
Growing up impoverished, I have learned to appreciate all the small, good things that life has brought me in my 81 years. One of those small things being the amount of meat Ashley served. I promptly brought my order to a gentleman named Oscar, who corrected it with no hassle.
Great food and good service
Have to say the Soulman’s in South Dallas has some of the best and friendly staff around… two thumbs up ?
We had Soulman’s cater our racing banquet. Some of the BBQ we have had in a long time. From placing the order to paying, to catering super easy. The staff was friendly and easy to work with. Thank you for all your hard work.
