We have ordered food from this Sonic location for years with no problems. Visited a few days ago and placed an order. The order was paid for at the menu board with a debit card. After inserting the card I believe there was a message on the menu board saying 'Approved/Accepted' or something along those lines to indicate the card could be removed. Mind you we visit here frequently and always use a credit or debit card at the menu board. When the young, female carhop came to our car she handed me the food and then asked for payment of the order. I told her the order was paid for with a debit card. She said the menu board I had ordered from was not working and that she would need my debit card. I told her I was certain the menu board displayed some type of message indicating the card/ transaction was accepted/ approved. She said the transaction did not go thru because the menu board was not working. At that point I felt as if I was being scammed and I told the carhop I was going to log into my bank account to see if the transaction appeared. I then handed my order back to her because I did not want it to appear that I was trying to get out of paying. I logged onto my bank account and the transaction showed as pending in my bank account. I told her the transaction was pending and turned my IPad to show her and she said "ok well sometimes these menu boards don't work". I reminded her that that was not what she originally said. She originally said the board did not work and she asked for payment. She glared at me and said "do you want your food now"? A few things were glaringly wrong with this situation. First, if I told her the transaction was pending in my account you think she would of gone back inside to figure out why the transaction went thru but she still asked for payment. Second, when I showed her the transaction was pending in my account there is no way from where she was standing that she could see the small font on my IPad. So why did she just trust what I said and not go inside and again verify what I told her? She absolutely had the worst attitude and again the whole incident seems suspicious. When we got home we called and asked to speak to a manager. The person who answered identified himself as a manager. I asked for his first name and he just kept saying "how can I help you" but he would not give his first name. I told him what happened and he basically was laughing the entire time I was telling him what occurred. We have eaten at this location for years but will be going to the one on Goliad in Rockwall from now on.

First off, I wanted to state that I get a drink (and leave a tip) from this location almost EVERY day! On the weekends, I often get food as well.Well, today, my son asked for a shake. I ordered on the ap and went to sonic. Upon checking in, I really wanted water. Not thinking anything of it, I asked for a cup of water. Imagine my surprise, when the "car hop" told me I had to order it! I asked, "water isn't free?" She said, "no."Wow, I go to restaurants all the time and the water is just part of the experience. I don't think I was ever told that I would have to pay for it.Thanks, Horizon location, I guess I can save that money I used to patron your establishment daily and use it to go to a more friendly (water giving) restaurant!

Avoid at all cost unless you like your money stolen from you!Lisette the manager said she would replace my missing items, that I paid for during their busy lunch hour, just to get there for her to say that she is not able to replace my order on what she already agreed to replace.

My husband and I, love it at sonic. They have friendly service and they get our order correct every time. Plus the food is sooo good.
They maintain the outside appearance of their store. They don't have a Drive Thru.
