Kellie Messer knows delicious food, fast service and always delivers when in comes to your dining experience. Just like the other Texas borders at I-10 and West green, this restaurant is always top notch. They always have the best crawfish when in season and the burgers and other options are always fresh and tasty. I'm glad this one has a playground to keep the kids busy while you enjoy some ice cold drinks, reminds me of the first one I would go to as a kid. Texas borders is a hometown classic in Katy and everyone who goes there loves it, this one's gonna be the same, it'll always have a special place in my heart and always a recommended place if I'm in the area.
First Impression - food was pretty good, service was not. We drove 45 minutes to this location with reasonable expectations based on a family referral. We had to wait almost an hour (after being told 20 minutes) for a table which was difficult with an eight and four year old, but we managed and tried to make the best of it. Once we were finally given a table on the patio, disappointment set in. Extremely long wait times for drinks and food plus our server forgot to turn in the kids' meals so the little ones had to wait even longer for their food. What added insult to injury was watching other tables who sat after us getting served promptly and with a more positive demeanor from the staff. We were NOT difficult or rude to our server at all. We just wanted to be treated equally to other patrons in the establishment. After hunting down a manager things finally got moving, but we were in it 2 hours at that point and everyone was tired and over it. We love good food and appreciate good service and willing to travel for both. There are plenty of similar options out there with food equally good if not better than this place with better service.
This is the grilled chicken plate with mashed potatoes and brown gravy. Plating really matters, as well as getting the rest of the food that was supposed to come with the entree. Easy mistake, no biggie. It's the fact that I was served my food at least 5 minutes before he got his pathetic plate, making my food now cold, and the waitress didn't come back to check on us for another 5 minutes. I really like this place but the last 3 times we have gone we haven't left happy and full.
As 1st timers we got a complimentary appetizer, chips & 3 kinds of home made salsas (called the Trio), the chips were crispy & very thin and the red, jalapeño ranch & queso dips were all homemade and very tasty?The fried mushrooms were also delicious. My husband fajita steak sandwich (Philly style) was also good but didn't have any mayo, his onion rings were quite good with a nice light batter.My mushroom cheese burger was overcooked, I realized that the server didn't ask me how I liked it cooked ? so it was a little dry and also lacking mayo!The fries had a light batter and were quite good also.The above plus 2 iced teas came to about $38, so their prices are quite reasonable.I recommend their lunch for families with kids as they have a nice little playground and 2 outside seating areas.
the food was great, the drinks were cold, and Sara did an amazing job. Especially in light of the fact I had never seen it as packed as it was. My wife and I will be back for sure.
3rd time here. Same experience, staff super friendly, food good. I loved the chips and salsa! I got the wings this time. These things are super filling. I got an 8 piece and the wings definitely aren't tiny!!I've been to this place 2 times now. The staff are super friendly and sometimes it takes a pretty long time to get what you order. The food is good. It's not amazing food but it definitely doesn't suck either. If you're wanting some variety then come here. They offer "American" food and "Mexican" food. The plus is the outside playground for the kids. Playgrounds are like pcp to children. They get on and don't wanna get off. :)
Totally awesome job by my Waitstaff Jennifer and 2 other awesome young ladies that made sure we had hot crawfish and cold margaritas.
This place was amazing! The crawfish were some of the best ever! We are always in search of good cajun crawfish and this place did not disappoint! We will be back! Jordan Archer was our server and she was on top of it. Great food, excellent service!
We went for our grandfather's Birthday and the staff was beyond exceptional! Food and drinks came quickly! Kids love the outdoors play area and the game room!!! 10 stars from me!
Do not come here if you’re hungry. You will have to wait for at least 40 minutes to get your food. The service was terrible. Our server walked past us multiple times ignoring us but talking to everyone else. When we tried to order our food she would make disgusted faces and talk to us like we were children. This was a very terrible experience, I do not recommend any one to come here and most definitely will not be returning. These people need to get their stuff together.
