First time and won't be the last. The place is small with a rather small section for dine-in. So if you want to eat there, be early, soon as they open. The price and portions are very fair and do get your money's worth. I had the Birds Nest HOT, and it was delicious! Fries are crinkle style and yummy. My reason for the 4 stars is the lack of attention to detail. I ordered and paid for 4 servings of 'come back' sauce. Our order was to go and wasn't visible. Thankfully, soon as we walked out, my husband checked and sure enough, there were only 2. He had to go back in and even then, the guy insisted the sauces were in one of the containers. My husband had to show the receipt and explain, yes 2 but not the 4 ordered. We did get the other 2 but overall it was an inconvenience,.. check containers, go back in, explain, show proof, etc. Regardless, food is flavorful and worth the trip. They are always busy so be prepared for that.
Delicious spot for fried, and truly spicy hot chicken. For a comfortable burn, a medium is the way to go. To have a little bit of everything in an easy-to-eat container, get the bird’s nest.They will have people lined up even during their second opening of the day, so don’t be late!This is definitely a place you’re going to want to visit if you’re in Richardson.The A-bomb is really spicy and will probably ruin your bowels for a month (it did for me).
That is one damn good sandwich! And a hot one at that. I ordered it hot and man was it ever!!! And there was 2 levels of heat above that available to! The don’t have much of a menu, but honestly they don’t need one, the chicken is that good! The biggest problem with this place is the size! It needs to be about 3 times as big. I was there 20 minutes before closing on a Sunday at lunch and it was packed! There was no place to sit and eat. There was barely anyplace to stand to wait for your food to take to go! You guys ought to move to a bigger store in that same strip center!
Sooo good. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, comeback sauce was divine, and the bun was buttery and fluffy. Also, most crinkle cut fries I’ve ever had have been soggy but these weren’t at all. Perfectly crisp!
Overall, amazing friendly and quick customer service. I ordered the 3 jumbo tenders, fries, and a drink. I made the mistake of getting the medium hot jumbo chicken tenders. I should’ve never gotten anything so spicy. I have a low spicy tolerance, but I didn’t think it would be that spicy. After only taking one bite, I threw away the chicken and only ate the fries. The guy said it would be more like an jalapeño spice, but it was way more spicer.Pretty bummed out with my first experience, but I will come back to try the mild spice instead.
Ricky's really is worth the hype. I've tried several other Nashville hot chicken places in the DFW area, including Dave's, Smackbird, Fiery Hot, etc. There is nothing that comes even close to Ricky’s.- Every single bite is crispy and tender - both the chicken AND the fries. You can hear the crunch.- Spice levels are really spicy. Hot is perfect for me. I eat spicy, and XHOT was unbearable for me to eat, and it felt like my insides were ripping out.Otherwise, I’ll definitely be back for more!
I had Hattie'B before I would def say I would give Ricky's the edge because of how quick the service is, literally right after I paid I got my food on the spot haha. The chicken is crispy and the comeback sauce is a killer! Staff is friendly as well! The only problem with this location is the limited seats but you can always take it to go or eat outside!
My favorite place to get chicken. Had no idea what Nashville hot chicken was before but absolutely adored Ricky's from the first bite to the last. Love that there's a variety of options of how you want your chicken (bite sized nuggets here) and the spice level so that our kiddo can eat here too (he's also a big fan). The chicken is juicy and crisp with flavor that'll punch you in the face. The fries are always super crisp, the only thing soggy will be your brow. As awesome as the food is, the staff really make this place going above and beyond to make every visit a joy and setting the vibe. Really can't recommend the place enough.
Just found this place and glad i did. Had the chicken sandwich Hot (habanero) and it was great. Fresh, crispy, juicy, spicy and hot (temp). Best chicken sandwich ive had in a long time.Fries were delicious with some seasoning and actually crispy. I hate stale soggy fries and these were not.Think it was $12 for the meal. For the large size of the sandwich and generous fries, I would say its a fair deal and will be back.
THE best hot chicken in DFW. So excited to have a location in Arlington now. 1.5 hours in line was absolutely worth the wait during the soft opening, free entrees was a perk?? highly recommend!!
