This is the worst restaurant that my family and I have ever attended. My partner and I both SMU law Alums. Decided to take my partners to this now mediocre restaurant for mother’s day and to celebrate our graduation. We typed the special occasion details in the reservation Box prior to arriving. When we entered the restaurant and we got sat in a booth we waited over 25 minutes to get a glass of water and over 35 minutes to get a server attention. Although, we flagged down several waiters as they kept attending to near by tables. No one came to assist us. It was completely the worst experience of my life in the service industry. The most embarrassing thing is that we saw so many reviews and decided this was the special place for our special occasion. We brought a set of flowers and a gift for my partners mother and this restaurant service towards us was beyond awful. I now have placed it in a no business list for SMU students and Alums.
Wonderful experience, ambience and staff! And of course the food was mouth-watering good! The grilled oysters were top notch. Our entrees were on point (Filet and baby back ribs) and a special celebratory desert for our special occasion. Our waitress, Michelle, gave us excellent insight into menu options as this was our first time at Jasper's. We celebrated our anniversary and will definitely be going back!
‼️‼️We truly enjoyed this experience‼️‼️ We had an amazing time. The layout and atmosphere was pleasant. We had a room as my cousin celebrated her 45th birthday. The entree items was awesome, the three course meal was good, and the service was awesome! I got there a little from out of town n was told they were a little behind. My only recommendation and not just to this restaurant but ALL. Ensure your waiters and hostesses keep mints in their mouth. Conduct breath checks because our hostess/waiter breath was sooooo bad. My 12 yr old said, mommy I smell chitterlings. And when the waiter came back, all full of energy, she left an awful feeling in our stomachs. It was her breath. She was so eager and excited so she verbalized that way, forcing the impact of her breath to be that much more awful. Breath checks should be required and breath mints required. Great place though!
Jasper’s Richardson is a must for fine dining and an experience! I utilized the private room for my client’s 45th birthday and Jasper’s did not disappoint! Christine was AMAZING in assisting me with the private dining side of Jasper’s. She was always very prompt in responding to any questions or concerns I may have had for her. She made us feel right at home when booking with Jasper’s to celebrate this milestone. Brittany was our server for our dinner and she was AWESOME! She has a beautiful energy about her and she took great care of my client and her guests. I cannot wait to book another private dining event for my clients and/or grab dinner for myself. Thank you all again!
Very good atmosphere. Promotes itself as an upscale "backyard cookout" restaurant. Blue cheese potato chips and hamburger were done well and very flavorful. We had an issue with the calamari appetizer. Calimari was rubbery and when we mentioned this to the server he tried to tell us the texture was normal. We asked for another try and second try was better but still rubbery. I do not recommend this appetizer! In my opinion this restaurant is over priced.
The group I came with ordered the tinsley cocktail, barb’s martini, the venison, the pork tenderloin, the filet mignon, and the chefs pizza. The price for the cocktails may seem slightly steep, but both tasted very fresh and smooth, as well as being made with a sufficient amount of liquor. Well worth the price. The venison and polenta were a solid 10/10. The pizza with red bell pepper and sausage was likely the best value, as far as the amount of food and cost, vs the quantity and quality of food. The filet mignon was fantastic as well. The pork tenderloin was very good, but oddly the corn slaw and fried onions were the most memorable part of the dish. Overall, I am incredibly likely to return here, the quality of food and the service was excellent.
Took a visiting relative there after having an excellent prior experience. It fell short this time.Went for an early dinner to avoid crowd. Only one table was occupied in the entire large dining area. We were seated next to them. Request to seat elsewhere for distance was refused, because all the other tables were already “reserved.” The third group that came in after us was seated next to the first on the other side. Their request to seat elsewhere was honored. Don’t know if this was profiling or something else…Beef carpaccio was good. Salmon was cooked to order. Empanadas were agreeable. However, presentation could improve. Baby arugula was not as fresh as they were last time. The ice cream scoop seemed to forced the chocolate cake split.Server Dolan continued to provide professional and courteous service with smile. We’ll come back, to use up the purchased gift card and will see from there.
I saw this location on google maps and thought it would be a nice place to go and kill 1 1/2 hours. As I drove by at 5:30, there was only parking for "to go orders" and they were mostly empty. I drove West until I was almost to the roundabout before I found an open space. After noticing how far it was to walk, I decided to eat somewhere closer. Apparently there is a parking garage that I could have parked in, but I assume it would actually be more steps away than street parking. I did not notice any disabled parking close to this location.
I reserved a table for 4 for NYE weeks in advance. 3 days prior, I receive a text informing me (for the first time) that dinner will be from a pre-selected menu and will be $90/per person. Realize that if I order the same exact options on December 30th, it would be $44. So, Jasper's leaves me with these 2 choices: (1) pay double what you would normally pay (not 20% more, but 100% more), or (2) cancel my reservation and hope to find reservations at another restaurant within 72 hours of NYE (good luck!). Here's the stunning part: when I contacted Jaspers to inquire about this, the young lady on the phone went to get the manager and then returned to say he was "in a meeting with the chefs." I asked, "at 5:45?" She said "yes." She then took my name and number and said the manager would call me back. Big surprise! NO CALL. I'm not sure how Jasper's could have treated a customer more poorly. Needless to say, Jasper's is off my list of places I will do business in the future.
Wonderful service provided by the staff and our waitress (Michelle, I think). The steaks didn't come out as we had ordered them. However they were quick to resolve that issue. For sides we ordered the corn bread (really good), brussels (okay), macaroni (wouldn't recommend). Ultimately it was a great evening and we enjoyed our impromptu dinner.
