I used to love this place for an authentic dish. I came in for a quick lunch today. I had a lunch special and was pretty good. The lady who took my order rushed me to order even though there were not many tables occupied. I asked a question about the menu and she gave me that look of "hurry up your order". Maybe I should try some other time to see if things got better.
[5/27/2022] This was our second time, the food and the service were good as the first time. This restaurant has 100+ menu items. Yet, the restaurant manages to produce good food.[4/19/2022][$20] Our first time for lunch. There were several other Asian restaurants but I reluctantly chose this one because others were either closed or looked but sketchy. Our food were excellent and we will come here again.
Food was really bad. I don’t usually say this but it was really bad. One of the worst things I’ve ever paid to eat. I ate a good amount of it nonetheless because they didn’t bring the first appetizer for 50 minutes and I was starved. After forcefully shoving in most of the expired-frozen-rubber tasting fake sea food blocks into my tummy, I found hair in my food. Would recommend to those who enjoy the taste of rubber.
The service was okay. There is so much to select from the menu. The sweet and sour beef was good. The fish was very good. The beef and noodles was also good. They do have some hot pot dishes. For what ever reason I never like those portable butane stove.
Service was okay. The menu have a wide selection, with such wide selection I always end up ordering what I’m familiar with rather trying something new. The fish with tofu is very good. The tofu was not too soft. The beef with noodles are very good. The sweet and sour beef is good. The do have some hot pot dishes where they use a portable propane burner.
We ordered sizzling beef and crab asparagus soup. Rice was super dry, which is pretty sad for an Asian restaurant. It tasted like microwaved rice. Beef was soggy and is so much better at other places around here. There's the typical 'poor' Asian restaurant service that we all understand and put up with, and then there's being downright awful to people. One of your waitresses sounded like she was guilting and harassing another table next to us to order more food when they said no multiple times. She was middle-aged with short curly hair. She was curt and dismissive with us, which I can handle just fine, but it was just such an unpleasant and uncomfortable atmosphere overall when combined with the food. Don't see myself trying this place again.
Place was packed because of the Spring festival celebration. Food was OK, nothing too exciting about it. The beef flat noodles was overcooked and soggy and not enough wok hei, pretty flat taste profile. The szechuan beef is not an authentic szechuan beef, too sweet. Probably too much of a cantonese influence. Same with the mapo tofu. Note to self.. should probably not get sichuan type dishes here. The crispy duck was decent but I wish the cook could have swung that cleaver a few more times. The duck came out in rather large sizes. Ended up having to share that last drumstick with a couple of us taking individual bites out of it. lol
Canton is cozy and serves up hot, delicious food. Perfect for a chilly evening like tonight. One of my recently discovered favorite Chinese restaurants.
Ordered sizzling beef and general tso's chicken. Sizzling beef is basically just brown gravy, not much flavor otherwise, and wasn't very good. And the general tso's chicken was basically just red sweet and sour sauce, and also not very good. Both dishes had kind of an off taste. Was definitely not worth the cost.
Incredible and authentic! Came in for lunch, we were seated instantly and ordered right away. Lunch special came with fried rice, egg roll, and choice of soup.\\nThe soup was fresh and ready to eat almost as soon as we sat down. The main dish came within 5 minutes. The food was absolutely delicious. Excellent and efficient service.
