They have one of the best caesar salads on the market. I also enjoy the imitation crab salad, pasta salad & zucchini muffin! I've tried a soup & sandwich combo as well, just can't remember what I ordered. Food is always fresh & good. Customer service...meh... the employees for the most part are always dry. I get they have to move the line & I'm sure people come in acting as if they don't know what's on the menu as they have had the same to-go menu for decades. That being said, being more welcoming still goes a long way. I sometimes want to ask them why does it always seem like they're having a bad day. ? ??‍♀️

Here’s the scathing review Rick, the “manager”,  (HA!) told me he was looking forward to reading.Today I stopped by Cafe Maxx in Richardson to get a salad for lunch. I was the only customer in the whole restaurant, and tried to order a salad for takeout. The lady behind the counter refused to serve me because I wasn’t wearing a mask. I asked her if they had a masks available for me to wear to place my order, she  said ”Nope”. Since I was the only customer in the restaurant, I asked if I could just order and go, she responded again curtly, “Nope!”. I left the restaurant without saying anything because I didn’t want to make a scene, and called the manager, Rick. I spoke with him and told him about what just happened inside the Richardson location. I explained to Rick that I have previously been to the Cafe Maxx location in Plano — and that no masked required there. I asked Rick how were the rules different then the other locations? Rick’s response to me was incredibly unprofessional and rude. He snapped that wearing masks at the Cafe Maxx Richardson location were the “rules of the house”, he then snapped “Do you have anything else to say?!”I am incredibly taken aback, and frankly quite disappointed with my overall experience. Especially given the fact that I reached out to the Manager, Rick, for clarification on the mask rules at the Richardson location. He was adamant that masks are required at the Richardson location. Why are none available for Customer to wear while inside? Why the inconsistency between the rules in each location? Overall, a terrible experience and I do not recommend anyone going to the Cafe Maxx in Richardson unless you want a horrible experience like I had today. Seems silly refusing service (and not having any masks available!) when restaurants are in desperate need of customers and money!

I’ve been coming to Café Max for YEARS. Food is always the best and well served. But today I went and was the only person in the store and the first thing that came out of one of the associates mouth was do you have a mask.. very rudely might I add.Before I even get greeted, I get yelled at for not having a mask when they have 1000 signs at the door. I’m not going to stand at the door and read every sign when I am in a rush. But I said yes I do, I will go grab one. Went to my car grabbed a mask and came back inside for food. I don’t mind someone asking me to put on a mask but the way the associate approached the situation was incredibly disrespectful. Not the way to treat a longtime client or any client in that matter.I work a front facing customer job and that is the rudest thing you could just do to someone. Not even a hello, how is your morning going, just flat out yelling across the store, where is your mask? Team definitely needs to be trained on how to greet a client… if you don’t have clients you don’t have a business. Do better.

Got in Saturday just before 1:30pm close.Walked in to order 4 salads to-go.Salads were exceptional and enough for two servings!!

I’ve been going there for 30 years and I hadn’t been in a while. I just got ripped off 1 plate with crab salad, fruit salad and Caesar salad. Cost $20 plus. The crab meat did not taste good at all . horrible quality.

I wish I was writing a review on how good the food is here , because it is indeed great food. The lady's working there are always very nice and sweet, the older gentlemen working there on the other hand is not, he is in fact rude. I was told I couldn't go inside without a mask, so I turned around and left. This will be my last visit.

I have loved this place for years but was treated so rudely about a mask I felt like the guy who seemed to be the owner hated his job and his customers. Sad day cause I won't ever go back.

Have been a customer since they opened at their original location! EVERYTHING on the menu is Spectacular. My Favorite are the Chicken salad, Seafood salad, pasta, cucumber salad a,d Ceasar salad. The rolls are so delicious but it is hard to beat the Zucchini muffins and the oatmeal cookies topped off with their infamous orange spiced iced tea! OBSESSED FAN FOREVER!!

Came in to order catering for my office of 30 ppl. Refused to serve me because I didn't have a mask. I asked if I could order and sit in my car but they said no mask, no service. I'm sorry but if you are going to require people to wear a mask while ordering food Togo you better at least have a box of masks at the door for people who don't have a mask. I have no problem wearing one I just didn't have one. Cafe Max you just lost $500.... get with the times or provide for your customers it's that simple.
