Seems like a good hometown place if you know the staff or community. Service was slow and the place was not busy. Portions were big. Onion rings were burnt. I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to come here.
Historic downtown Prosper Texas! Cool original building! Great food, service and setting!
We haven't been here in awhile. The place is renovated and very cute. I was very excited to go have some desert as I know they have some really good food and desert. I was quite unimpressed that it was not busy and the wait staff was more concerned standing around right in the entry of the kitchen instead of paying attention to their job. Keep in mind we only ordered apple pie and sopapilla cheesecake and both came on skillets and cold out of the fridge. The coffee we ordered was super dark black and Luke warm and smelled like burned cigarettes. We were brought coffee with no cream and we had to wave down our waitress every time we needed something even just the check. I asked if the apple pie was supposed to be cold and at first she said yes they were not supposed to be heated the sopapilla cheesecake was hard to cut and it was served with ice cream. Really odd. Then she came back and said oh yes the apple pie was to be heated. Manager on duty definitely needs to take interest in how this makes the restaurant look when you have subpar service but yet this place is a very well known for good food and when we have been there in the past when it was the old style the food was hot and the staff was on top of it. Today was disappointing
Took my son for breakfast at the Cotten Gin this morning. We had the Tex omelette and three egg omelette. For three egg omelettes , they were very thin. The hash browns and omelettes did not have much taste to them. Toast was served with an offering of butter or jam. The water we had to drink was fine, but the only time we were asked for a refill was after we got the check. Wish I could review higher, but 5 years ago the service and food was much better.
The Gin has been a regular for our family for q5 years. Even after the renovation, they kept the small town charm and elevated the menu to another level. The fried pickles are always a must!
Love this place! Been here several times; dined in and did take out. Great food every time with great service and very clean. Highly recommend it!
Food was good, but wish they had sweet potato fries.
Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. The girls are at the host stand I'm certain have a IQ of 45. They don't know how to give gravy with a chicken fried steak or any side dish for the $17 entree. That's all it was a big chicken fried steak, nothing else . How does this establishment not know their own menu. The girls response " oh, sorry we forgot". Good luck finding the wait time for a table. Same girls apparently can't tell time either. Somehow no wait time turns into 30 min within a 4 min drive. I know help is hard to find but this is just desperation. Stay in school.
Our first time here since moving to Prosper. A very welcoming restaurant and very friendly staff. Most importantly excellent food and service. We tried the Hot Italian and the Southwest salad and both were excellent. My biggest compliment is actually for the onion rings - this place knows how to make real, homemade onions that retain their snap and flavor upon cooling a bit - not oily at all. It’s been a long time since I have had such great onion rings.
Great food, great service, Kendall, Cayman & Trinity were very friendy and welcoming. Great first impression as you walk in.
