I really do like this place. I wrote my last review back in 2016, but I have been back several times since then including this past weekend. It's a perennial favorite and routinely ranks in my top ten burger joints in the DFW. For me, that's saying a lot. In general, I prefer a thick juicy burger that is pink in the middle. Ye Ole Butcher serves up a 1950 style diner burger that is thin, flat and cooked all the way through. Usually that loses all the flavor, but here the grill puts a beautiful bark on the meat that is a flavor all by itself. Add the natural cut, perfectly cooked fries, and this place is a home run. The hole-in-the-wall atmosphere coupled with country boys serving up a great attitude puts it in my top places to have a burger. BTW - this is an actual butcher shop. You can pick up cuts of meats displayed behind their counter.

This place is awesome. Burgers were thick and juicy with a nice seared crust. Bison burgers were available for a slightly healthier yet just as good option as the beef burgers. The fries were the perfect balance of fluffy interior and crispy exterior (onion rings were great too). And don't get me started about the fried pies, which are apparently made with real flaky pie crust. The atmosphere is no-frills with a quirky aversion towards vegetarians (it is also a butcher shop after all), but that's pretty much what you want/need for a burger joint.

Wow! What a great experience! Good burgers, sides and environment. Among the 4 of us we had 2 Buffalo burgers and 2 butcher burgers, fries, tater tots, sweet potato tots.Highly recommend!!

I really wanted to love this place - I mean, it’s a meat shop that makes and sells burgers - even buffalo burgers - right here in Plano; unfortunately, the actual experience didn’t live up to the expectation for me. The buffalo burger was ok, the sides were ok, drinks were ok. Maybe my biggest disappointment was that the bun was larger than the burger - kind of a visual letdown even before taking a bite! The store had good traffic, so I know people like it - I liked the atmosphere and the people, but the burger itself was average.

This is a great place with great food. The prices are very reasonable & the staff is very helpful & friendly.Still has that small town feel. The Buffalo burgers, all the way, are perfect. We haven't tried their homemade fried pies, but are tempted because they look delicious & have so many varieties.Try out this gem of a place.

Absolutely amazing customer service! Our burgers were excellent, everything you expect in a delicious juicy hamburger. The onion rings will make you not want to share!?Thank you to the owner's of this unique little shop for caring about your service and the products you serve.

First time here and the place was busy so that's always a good sign. Order the Buffalo burger with cheese and fries and I gotta say it was pretty damn good. They have other meats besides the norm like elk and venison so I can't wait to go back and try them. Also seen a elk sausage gumbo out the corner of my eye after I ordered that sounds good.

One of the best most juicy and tastiest burgers around. The bread was grilled too.The fries were hot and crispy and big. The older gentleman Behind the Counter was very friendly and helpful but I can't remember his name. The pie lady was awesome and kind. She had a cart full of goodies . Also, the men behind the counter in the prep area were fast and efficient. We Saw a lot of doordash and other delivery pickup Services coming here to deliver orders.

Just don't stop for the fantastic burgers....BUY THEIR MEAT! Much better than grocery store meat, by at least 3x. Their rib eyes are wonderful and huge. They also have a couple of freezers with seasoned sausage meat, sometimes game. And if you're a nose-to-tail type of person (and you should be), organ meats. If not, but want to make your own dog food, organ meat is essential to get all the nutrients dogs require, nutrients not found in sufficient quantity in the muscle meats.

Been eating here for over a decade and is a go to stop when out of town family comes to visit. Buffalo burgers are always cooking, but their daily specialty burger are fantastic too. Staff is always welcoming and friendly, good southern hospitality. And sometimes you can catch them at their booth during local fairs and outdoor events. Get Buff!
