Ordered 12.99 menu item to go, asked if they had a military discount- person at the register said he didn’t know how to do that …. He went to get the manager. He rang it up (with the military discount he advised) … and said that will be $14.99 ???? I said, the board reads $12.99. The manager replied that’s with tax - I said there is NOT $2.00 tax on $12.99.He “adjusted” the register to show $11.99 & charged me $11.99 - no tax.In reference to the military discount, his comment was the store owner NO LONGER offers discounts, but he made it right. No Thanks …. Good bye Dickey’s BBQ ?
Been awhile since visiting and things changed somewhat - mainly price increases while serving less. Still great tasting BBQ with an amplified selection of side dish selections from the last time I was here. I had a "combo" lunch special that increased by 3 bucks since last time. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with okra as a side because no one else around here offers okra anymore so I took the opportunity. The okra was plentiful, prepared well and delicious and it's a good thing because the reduced size sandwich is literally a "Happy Meal" bun that runs out way before the meat does. ?why not spread that meat across a Texas size bun and exploit that from a marketing standpoint?! I mean you're already serving enuf meat to cover it and it would give a better impression of value for just pennies more per serving. Also the drink is ridiculously over sized and costly and comes in some special PR plastic cup they continue to believe everyone wants when in reality we're just sad for the landfill they're causing. Sadly to get a smaller, more reasonable sized/priced drink that doesn't waste as much, the "combo" price remains the same regardless. So it's like "you're getting a single use (because no one wants to carry around a Dickey's cup) landfill item with your meal, like it or not.
I went to Dickey today. I must say I will be back. I was greeted in a timely manner. Juan, who took my order and suggested menu items to me. He was not rushing me etc. very nice and patient. I received my food fast and the prices where decent. I will definitely be back soon. Not to mention the food was very delicious and a great amount for the prices. Definitely have a forever customer.
Came in on a rainy day but wouldn’t know the difference from the ambiance the staff presented. Happy, cheery folks ready to guide you and serve you some BBQ. The manager, Juan, personally came to our table to make sure everything was up to par. Very glad to add some pep up on such a overcast of a day.
THE BEST BBQ I HAVE HAD SINCE I'VE BEEN IN TEXAS.... AFTER 3YRS IN TEXAS I FINALLY HAVE FOUND THE BEST IN THE SOUTH..... .CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS 100% AND FOOD WAS 100% THATS SAYS A LOT EVEN THOUGH I GOT MY ORDER TO GO BOTH TIMES......GREAT JOB
Juan and Jennifer both have great attitudes and can really tell that they care about there job and the way they prepare the food. Great customer service.
Tried the beef brisket plate. Tender and moist brisket meat - you can get this sliced or chopped. The plate comes with 2 sides out of a nice variety of selections - I picked cucumber salad and beans. You also get a roll as well. Courteous server.
Ate here just after noon on a Friday in January. The place was clean. The workers were nice and friendly. The food was excellent. This probably would been a 5star review except the ice-cream machine was out of order.
This was my first time in this location and I really liked it. It’s much bigger than the one I normally go to and I like the atmosphere there too. The food was great as always. I got the brisket and loved it. Clean place too.
Love this place… not Dickies.. the Dickies on Coit and 15th. Juan is always welcoming and friendly. He greets his customers as they walk in and does his best to fulfill an order. His staff is attentive and goes the extra mile. I can go to another dickies that is closer but they do not provide the welcoming experience. Oh, and the BBQ here is made better than any other Dickies location (IMO).Don’t forget to thank Juan on your way out!
