One of the best Chuy experiences I have had, and I have been to several across many states. Tennessee, Indiana, Kentucky, Alabama, but this Texas location was the best experience. I came to dine here with my family on May 10, 2022. My family and I (party of 6) came for dinner and had the pleasure of being seated in Claire's section. She was a top notch server. The restaurant was filled when we went to eat, but the level of attention that Claire provided would make you think it was not busy at all. We had a tall order for any person, but Claire handled it perfectly. She made sure we had everything, kept checking on us regularly, even helped us with special orders because 2/3 of my family are vegetarian. She went to ask the cook to make fajita style veggie chimichuys. It might not seem like a big deal, but that is a HUGE deal to me for my mother and my grandmother. If the manager and or owner reads this, please thank Claire for us, as well as the cook who catered to our needs. I apologize I did not get the cooks name but he was cooking on May 10, 2022 for the dinner shift. We got two chimichuys (veggie fajita style) one with boom boom sauce and one without. The Veggie enchiladas with boom boom sauce, me and my bro-in-law eat chicken so we had the chicken burritos with Boom Boom sauce. And also an order of those delicious nachos. For drinks we had a few Mexican Martini. We also ordered some fresh grilled serano peppers chopped and stirred them into the martini! Let them marinate in the martini for a bit for a nice added spice to your drink. Definitely would return and hope to get Claire and that cook on staff!
Salad was good. Forgot drink. Repeatedly ask for things. Server was a wreck. Fajita nachos were over cooked. Barely enough meat for a taco. Not the chuys I remember. Did I mention it was a 20 wait for this disaster.
The is relatively plain and delicious restaurant! They have great, consistent, plain tex-mex food and drinks! The margaritas are usually quite good as well. My favorite is blackberry or raspberry, and the pineapple ones were to die for!! Unfortunately you don't see the pineapple one anymore.4 stars because they don't cook onions and peppers long enough in my opinion. I like my onions and peppers slightly to fully caramelized. The strong onion flavor is kinda a buzzkill because it over powers the flavor of the taco and the rest of the meal. This may seem like a small thing, but meat should be the highlight of a dish not the pungent onion. Another good option is to use a sweet onion instead of other more pungent varieties.
Amazing food, great service, clean bathrooms. I would definitely encourage you to try their enchiladas and uniquely flavorful salsa and sauces. The queso in particular is one that stands out. The blend of cheeses and spice was perfect. Even the margaritas were very good and they are not stingey with the pours. 10/10 experience, and I cannot wait to go back sometime soon!(PS: The ranch that fell on my lemon resembled Olaf from Frozen ?)
Used to be my favorite location until today, ordered some tortilla soup and they shamelessly put two cubes of diced avocado ...just two !! And have our 16oz sauce order divided into four little containers????? No one asked them to to do this. No complimentary salsas either. Just a bunch of employee kids who get annoyed if you dare to ask for anythinh
Can’t go wrong with this place. Great place for family and food and drinks.Plenty of menu options and variety of drinks on the menu. Patio seating as well as inside seating with high tables as well as booths. Telecasting most sport on many TVs.
I put in a Togo order, went inside through the Togo side. I asked 2 employees for assistance, neglected from both just to watch my food sitting on the counter.. and they forgot to give refried beans on one of the order. Just extra inconvenient when I'm home now.
Good food and good service.Word of caution: Watch your bill before paying.
DIRTY!!! Upon being sat our table was dirty and so was the floor. We waited a long while before we were even greeted. The chips were old and the tortillas were cold and after eating one we noticed the one directly under it was dirty, it was discolored and looked like it had black dust all over it. Our server was ok but didn’t return after serving our food. Our food was lukewarm and not made as we requested. We weren’t given knives to cut our food with or napkins or any refills on drink or salsa and couldn’t find anyone to ask because most of the waitstaff was in the kitchen. It was 45 minutes before close so I guess they were focused on closing duties because no one was visibly on the floor. While waiting for our check a HUGE cockroach was crawling on the floor near our table! When I alerted our server he looked at the roach and then said “I don’t get paid enough to be an exterminator” he didn’t even seem the least bit surprised to see a huge roach crawling around. Come on, it’s a restaurant at least fake concern. It continued to crawl underneath a couple’s table beside ours and they jumped up from their seats. Another staff member came and swept the cockroach up into a dustpan. I was patient, I was respectful, I paid full price for my tab and tipped well but left very disappointed with my overall experience!
Tortilla chips! What else do you need to know? Chuy’s has the best tortilla chips in the world...okay, North Texas. Visit Elvis at the Knox restaurant for cheap thrills.9-21 update:Next time you’re in this Chuy’s ask to be put in Rebecca’s section. She did a fabulous job taking care of us. The manager, Bruce Williams, stopped by to see how things were. Outstanding, of course! Be sure to ask for the jalapeño Ranch sauce. It is so good!!!
