Our server was efficient and attentive! Fair pricing for food portions even though it was slightly more expensive than other Mexican restaurants. The chicken fajitas were tender and flavorful! The flan was actually really good (I always try it elsewhere to see if it measures up to my own homemade flan! Almost ?!) The atmosphere was open and inviting. It's worth a visit!
First time at Abuelos. Not impressed. What I can say about this place is that it's a different kinda Mexican. When we walked in it was like u were entering a museum. There were statues everywhere. It was a little dark inside. We sat down and ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp which were THE BEST! Highly suggest this. We ordered DosEquis and my husband asked our waiter if the beers were cold and he says of course. But they weren't. I ordered chicken tortilla soup which was not that great, different for sure. My husband got trio fajitas and I got a chicken salad. My salad was not good either. It had shredded chicken. Who does that?? It definitely messed the salad up. So I ate a few bites but then couldn't finish it. Didn't finish the soup either. My husband mentioned that his fajitas tasted different but couldn't figured out what it was. I took a bite and said it was the meat. Take a guess....if u said chicken you were right. Idk what they are doing but they need to STOP!!Over all we won't be returning. We did ask the waiter what Abuelos concept was behind there food and he said they want it to be more of a Mexican Cuisine ?! So they are trying to fancy it up. Ok well y'all can have it. Now I know why there parking lot was always empty when I passed by wondering if this place was any good. Now I know....NOPE!
Best original frozen margarita ever! Good food, great atmosphere. We always sit in the bar and are never disappointed.Jordan is an amazing bartender, attentive and respectful to his customers. Top notch service. And a great vegetarian menu too!!We will definitely be back.
First time here! Food was great but found this black cross inside my grande burrito!I think.. they are praying for me. Thank you!
I was given gift cards for Christmas so we tried Abuellos. I can’t recommend! My go to TexMex is cheese enchiladas. These were mediocre! I don’t care for their chips. The service is was excellent. I’ll not return.
An absolute pleasure dining here. The staff are super courteous and the food is out of this world amazing. The best, most authentic Mexican food you can find this side of the border!
First timers, from Arizona. EVERYTHING was perfect. The restaurant interior, the host, the waitress, the food. Everything was perfect. Most definitely recommend Abuelos when in Texas.
My brother lives in the area. I'm an out-of-towner. We stopped in due to his recommendation. And I can say I really enjoy the visit. The food was awesome. The prices were on average higher than I expected. However the tastiness of the food was worth it!
Starting off the host was attentive and very friendly, we were seated right away. The restaurant was clean and had a nice ambiance with the music and somewhat dim lighting. The drinks were refreshing and came out quick. We ordered the fajitas for two with extra shrimp. The shrimp is a must try, the food is well seasoned and the tomatillo green sauce is AMAZING! Throughout the night we were attended by an attentive waitress and other staff. Overall Great Experience, one of the better Tex-Mex places in the area.
Ambience is nice, staff is preferential and tactfully unwelcoming. My meal was enjoyable, mother's was not. Plate was extremely hot, not warned about it and burned myself a bit. Probably won't be returning. That's too bad.
