I had high hopes for this restaurant but was, alas, disappointed. They advertised themselves as a Mediterranean restaurant with influences from Greece and its neighboring nations, but this couldn't be further from the truth. When you walk in, you're greeted by charming portraits of Thrace: Greece and Turkey, as well as the ambiance of cultural music and hospitable service. Overall, good vibes. The food, on the other hand, is a different story and needs immediate improvement. For starters, the tzatziki sauce is not evenly distributed throughout the pita and so you get ends soaked in it. The salad ingredients are similarly lazily slapped at the very end of the Greek gyros. There's no cohesiveness. Secondly, the gyros arrived cold. Only three minutes had passed by the time I touched it! The meat was also somewhat dry. Lastly, and this may be a nitpick, but I've never seen cucumbers in gyros, which really just tarnishes the authenticity of the dish. I feel less is more sometimes and would honestly save the owner a buck. The side of fries also lacked flavor and were soggy, as if they had been sitting out for a few hours and had deflated, despite the fact that they were freshly prepared. The Turkish rice pudding was also undercooked and gritty, which was unfortunate expectation-wise as these desserts aren't readily available locally. So if you've a Balkan/Anatolian/Caucasian/Levantine/German mouth on ya, take my word and stay clear of this restaurant or be sure to give them specific instructions on how to prepare your meal. It seemed to me that only Americans who aren't knowledgeable about decent food, or of at least this kind, were into it. For some, perhaps an upgrade from the typical at-home-unseasoned-chicken-breast. I truly hope they bring in chefs that specialize in this cuisine to provide an objective critique and evaluation in order to then improve and enrich these recipes. There's truly potential here. The restaurant is visually appealing; it's undoubtedly picturesque, and you can tell the owner worked hard to develop the interior, but we need food reform as the high price and serving size for the quality is imo unacceptable. The gyro alone cost me $14.05 with taxes!!Even the positive reviews for this restaurant are consistently 4 out of 5 stars, which is telling. However, because this location is still new, I'll return in a few months to see if anything has changed and will be sure to provide an update in the review and/or rating.

We went there for lunch on a Sunday. There was a big table of about 20 people and all the indoor tables were taken so we sat outside. I asked the staff if we can move indoors once a table is available for us. They did just that. The food is good: calamari, lamb pita, chicken plate, and pork kebabs (a bit dry). We’ll come back and try their other items.

The food here is so delicious! My husband and I ordered the Pastitsio and they were super awesome to split it for us on different plates. I also had the chicken orzo soup which was very flavorful. The gelato is very creamy and reminded me of Creamistry. I will be back often!

Always nice to support local! Great atmosphere and service. We went once for lunch and another time for dinner. The beat hummus is awesome. Get the hummus sampler. The gyro is also good. Great kids menu. For dinner I had the lamb kabob. The lamb meat was ok and the rice was under flavored. My husband got the cod. It was cooked well but felt like it needed a little something on top in addition to the tomatoes. The back-lava is wonderful!

Punctual, attentive service. All of our food was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Prices seem a bit high but when you taste the quality, you will see it is so worth it! This will be a local favorite for us.

I am Greek and grew up eating super authentic Greek food and this place was great! I had the Pastitio and loved it. My significant other got the Gyro Pita Wrap with fries and that was great too. The only thing I noted was that the Avgolemono wasn’t super traditional but still good. Definitely try this place out!

Nice atmosphere, food and service was good. Had the Calamari Appetizer, Gyro, and rice pudding. I asked if the calamari was enough for the table of 4, and was told yes but basically the portion was enough for 2. The gyro was great. The rice pudding was disappointing however, the rice was undercooked so it was grainy. Was plain. Overall a good experience and probably just a bad day on the rice pudding today.

Portara is exactly what I was hoping for. It is run by the same team that manages Taglia up the road. The same great service there will also be experienced at Portara. The pitas bread is fresh and delicious. For the first run I decided to have the lamb pita. The protein was well prepared and the taziki sauce was very tastie. I cannot wait to go back and try the kabobs. There's also a kids menu for those picky eaters. If you are in Pearland swing by and give them a try.

Excellent food. Fresh and flavorful. Lots of vegitarian options. They also serve a number of adult beverage options. I'm so happy to have a nice Mediterranean restaurant on this end of Pearland. It had a really nice kinda spa like atmosphere. My only concern is the location. Tucked back in the corner of 518 and Pearland. The location has had a lot of failed businesses. However business was bustling at lunch when we visited. Spread the word, cause this is one restaurant we want to stick around.

Super impressed with this Mediterranean restaurant that opened literally days ago. I had the hummus as an appetizer and the chicken kabobs, rice and grilled veggies for lunch. Service, food, decor was impeccable. I’ll be back for sure!
