I have to give Killen's Burgers 5 stars, if I could I would give it 10. Honestly the most delicious burger I have ever had. Maybe because of the fact that the burger I always order is the "Barbecue Brisket Burger" and as such, how can you not love the combination. Just amazing. I have yet to finish it to the last as it's just that massive and delicious. My kids just love their smaller burgers and milkshake combinations.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. We had the cheeseburger, double cheeseburger, chicken tender basket, hand cut fries, chocolate shake and the almond mocha shake. The food is excellent and served quickly. I strongly recommend it. Also, the burgers are quite large. Please like this review and follow me if you want more independent unbiased reviews
I went for lunch and was extremely satisfied. I was thinking it was going to be crowded as this is a popular place but was delighted that it wasn't as bad as I taught. I must say the Killens double cheeseburger did not disappoint. I normally add ketchup mustard etc but decided to try it first the way they make it and I was not dissapointed. The ingredients tasted fresh and definitely will have me coming back again. The workers were great and I really liked the oldies diner vibe in the restaurant.
I had ordered the BBQ Brisket Burger with sweet potato fries. The items on the burger gave it so much flavor, however overall it was pretty bad. The actual burger patty was awful, it was terribly dry and made the experience bad. $11 for a burger you would expect something amazing but it’s opposite. I asked for the sweet potato fries to be cooked a little crispy and they were amazing. Best thing about my meal were the fries and the cold water they had. I would not come back, my mouth and throat is still trying to rehydrate after that very dry burger.
Freshly made juicy good size burgers. Hand cut fries and all well seasoned . IMO best burger in town
My mom wanted to go here for her Bday dinner and I obliged. The dining room was probably 50% full when we arrived and there was a short line to order at the counter. I waited in line to order while she went and grabbed a booth. Counter service was friendly; ordered two burgers, hand cut fries and onion rings and some fountain drinks $36 after tip.Go to the booth and see there seems to be some delays in the kitchen. Burgers are up in the pass and just sitting there. Some folks make multiple trips to the counter to see where their food is at. Orders start to slowly trickle out but there was confusion as the person calling out orders could hardly be heard over the dining room noise. Finally I can see that our order is in the pass as the folks in front of us ordering had gotten their food. And I wait and I wait and finally my name is called.I go to the counter and I’m being handed two burger trays with no onions rings and no fries. They have apparently run out of onion rings and waiting on fries. They will call my name when the fries are ready and supposedly credit my card for the onion rings. So I return to the booth but now orders are coming out with fries and I’m still waiting for ours? Not a good look in my opinion. The food was good but the disarray of the kitchen was off putting. There are better burger options in the Clear Lake Area in my opinion.
This was our second attempt to visit Killen's Burgers in a week. The first visit we went in 20 minutes before an 8 pm close for a shake and were told they had already started cleaning the ice cream machine, and shake were not available. Somewhat understandable I guess, but it was still not a good experience. We were looking forward to what is usually a very good diner style burger on our 2nd visit. We went in at 4:30, knowing they closed at 6 on Sunday and didn't want to be part of a last minute rush while the crew was trying to prepare for close. We both ordered the Little burger, one with Swiss cheese and one with American cheese. For some reason they added an extra $.50 for the Swiss cheese on top of the $6.50 for a burger with cheese. When I look at the order on line site it should be $6.00 for the burger and $.50 for either American or Swiss cheese. Not a super big deal, but it's only the start of a mediocre experience. We also ordered a separate order of the hand-cut fries since we prefer them, and a separate drink. So we paid a lot more than we would have for 2 Little Burger baskets that have crinkle fries and a drink. $14.00 vs $22.00. Our choice I guess, but it seems like a big charge to substitute a different type of french fry. We got our drinks and sat down. There were several people waiting at the counter for to go orders that seemed to be there for a long time that were milling around restlessly and were distracting. The dining area was only about 1/2 full, mostly filled with a group of about 8 that had already been served. Our order seemed to take an unreasonably long time, and orders ahead of ours were coming out very slowly. We finally were called to get our order and we noticed they both had American cheese, so we had to have one sent back to change to Swiss cheese. They accomplished the change relatively fast, but we both noticed that the burger was only slightly warm and the fries were only hot in the middle and had become soggy even though they were on the overcooked side, indicating it had been done for a while before we were called up to get it. We've enjoyed the burger and fries here in the past, but this time had us looking at our alternatives for the future. There seemed to be several people in the kitchen, but they did not seem to be being organized or expedited efficiently. One employee behind the counter who wasn't helping was saying he couldn't wait until 6:00 close to a customer. Maybe if became part of the solution his day wouldn't be so bad. Also, an occasional late shift visit from the owner might be a good idea to see how things are going at close.
Had the Big K burger and couldn’t finish it (double decker) - course could’ve been the sweet potato fries or the onion rings or the strawberry shake lol! We really wanted to try the cheese curds - but they were out today! That’s ok we will come again! PS My daughter really liked the philly cheesesteak and real dublin cream soda! Great atmosphere and ambience!
Great food! Great service! Absolutely horrible parking situation. It's literally unsafe and someone will eventually get hit by a car, just because it's so cramped, so few parking spaces and so many people who want to eat there, all with giant Texas edition trucks. Honestly I should rate it lower, but the food, atmosphere, everything other than the parking is just amazing.
Have only had takeout from here, a coworker always picked it up… and it was good. I finally ate there for the first time a few weeks ago and what a different it made. Good went to Great! The restaurant was very clean and the cashier was very friendly and helpful with making burger recommendations to fit my husband her. I was seated and with a few short minutes my name was called and my order was ready! It’s was hot, fresh and delicious! Highly recommend taking a trip to visit in person and experience a great burger.
